Transformer Pulsar

A rapidly spinning neutron star which was having binary exception experienced a dramatic change in the June 2013.nIt was reported by NASA that its Fermi Gamma ray Space Telescope has recorded a measurement which described that with vanishing of radio beacon of pulsar system experienced a brightening of fivefold gamma rays.

According to an astrophysicist Benjamin Stapper who was in the team to understand the phenomena explained that it is like switch flipping from low energy state to high energy in order to morphing system. This phenomenon is gate way to analyze the transitional phase in the pulsar’s binary because there is somewhat interaction between pulsar and its companion further opine by Stapper.

AY Sextantis is system in which two stars which collectively form binary orbit around their common centre of mass which is 4,400 light year away located in the constellation Sextans. Pulsar which is present in this constellation is combined with a star which is on fifth to mass of sun and 1.7 millisecond pulsar which is named as PSRJ1023+0038.pulsar evaporates its companion because of closeness and orbit completion of stars in just 4.8 hours.

After the occurrence of supernova there survives a core which is named as neutron star or pulsar with having even more than sun in its sphere which not larger than Washington D.C. this neutron stars speed in ten times per second with emission of radio beams, visible light, X- rays and gamma ray which are termed as pulses by astronomers moreover they have quality of producing outflows or winds having high energy having movement as speed of light and this happens due to pulsar’s magnetic field which was created by its rapid spinning.

With the rotational speed of 43,000rpms in 10 milliseconds a revolving pulsar was discovered by astronomers about 30 years back. The reason behind rapid spinning of pulsars is that young pulsars remain in isolation of more than half milliseconds and occurs to be in binary system. Anne Archibald (Postdoctoral researcher at Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) in Dwingeloo who discovered J1023 in 2007) told that recycled pulsars are found to spin up with the help of their transfer and accretion of their other companion stars.

Low mass X-ray binary has to be qualified by system during the initial stage of transfer which is obtained when neutron star with slow spinning rate race toward the surface by emission of X-ray pulses which are as hot gas. This process takes billions of years to stop which would produce a rapidly rotation magnetic field of spun up millisecond pulsar having radio emissions.

Two telescopes were used to observe the spinning and orbital evolution of J1023 one was Lovell telescope which was present in United Kingdom and the other was Westerbork Synthesis radio telescope in Netherlands. Results of these telescope revealed that when radio signals of pulsar turned off at the same time there was considerable change in gamma rays properties. There was flip between radio and X-rays of a distant system which occurred in weeks before this discovery. In March and April 2013 there was robust in X-ray in PSR J1824-2452I which was located 19,000 light years away. Pulsar radio beam was emerged right after the dimming of X-ray emission.

What is happening with J1023 is last sputtering of spin up process after reaching to so much high energy. Powerful pulsar wind and radio beam are caused due to rapid rotation and magnetic field of pulsar. Companion’s gas stream is held back because of pulsar wind when radio beam becomes detectable this holding back of gas stream prevent it from coming too close.
