Poverty in Hong Kong

• “According to one calculation, over a quarter of people in Hong Kong are on the edge of poverty” - SCMP 21 May 2017

• “Wealth gap will break Hong Kong if we don't change the economic order – Paul Yip Professor of social work and social administration of HKU” – SCMP 5 June 2014

Nation transformation must be tangible with the premier socialindicator being the elimination of systemic poverty.

“The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8b)

The Solution is: Nation Transformation

Elimination of Systemic Poverty

Must Address All 4 Kinds of Poverty to Eliminate Systemic Poverty:

1. Spiritual poverty – afflicts those who do not know that God is their father.

2. Relational poverty encompasses those whose focus is on themselves at the expense of the community.

3. Motivational poverty is a state of hopelessness –they have no way of facing tomorrow’s challenges

4. Material poverty impacts those who lack the basic necessities to sustain themselves.
