Transfer Guide
Sampoerna University American College (in collaboration with Broward College) to
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York The chart below indicates how courses taken at Sampoerna University American College (SUAC) transfer to John Jay College. The three additional charts indicate how requirements count toward general education requirements and three example majors at John Jay: Applied Mathematics: Data Science and Cryptography, Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics (FEFF), International Criminal Justice, and Public Administration. Students may choose any major at John Jay, however. Regardless of the major they select, students who complete an AA or AS degree enter John Jay College with 36 of the 42 credits of general education requirements completed. John Jay College grants credit for courses completed with a grade of C or better. Additional Requirements to complete a Baccalaureate Degree at John Jay College after receiving an AA or AS degree:
1. Take two General Education courses: A Communications or Learning from the Past course and one of John Jay’s 300 level Justice Core Courses
2. Choose and complete a major program of study 3. Complete sufficient Elective Credits to reach 120 total credits, including sufficient liberal arts and science courses
(90 credits for a BA and 60 credits for a BS) 4. Achieve an overall GPA of at least 2.0 and a major GPA of at least 2.0
