    1.1. Training Option: SERCOA, Service Radio Commander OBR Operation / Administration

    Target Group The following curriculum will help you to identify your training needs based on the different job profiles in the Mobile Networks business. Depending on the particular tasks you need to perform and on the depth of knowledge you want to achieve, the following levels of training are possible: - OAM Specialist for Radio Commander OBR - Commissioning Specialist for Radio Commander OBR - System administrator for Radio Commander OBR

    Objectives Upon completion of curriculum, participant will be able to: - operate, administer and maintain the Radio

    Commander - Commission the Radio Commander according to the

    installation test procedure manual. - perform advance database administration and systems

    backups of the Radio Commander

    Prerequisites Basic knowledge in telecommunications - preferably also in the Mobile Networks field is recommended, but not compulsory.

    All prerequisites are given in the curriculum and can be considered as optional if equivalent knowledge was obtained at an earlier point in time.

    Content delivery can be combined with Web-Based Training (the latter should be worked through prior to classroom sessions).

    In this course you will acquire the knowledge necessary to administer a Solaris 2.x system. This is a prerequisite for the subsequent Node Commander administration training. The users and administrators part of Solaris is discussed.     The participant gets an overview on the GSM Transmission Principle, Services, Network Architecture, Protocols & Procedures, Radio Interface and Siemens GSM solution. This course is the basic introduction into the "GSM world" and prerequisite for all succeeding mobile communication courses, e.g. GPRS; EDGE, UMTS, Introduction & Protocol Courses.

    TM2110, GPRS/EDGE Introduction

    The participant gets an overview on the GPRS principles, advantages, network and protocol architecture, most important procedures, radio transmission, GPRS enhancements by EDGE and the Siemens GPRS solutions.

    MN1783-10, RC OBR 7.0 Operation

    In this course you learn how to perform all OAM tasks via the RC. This includes fault management, configuration management, software management and management tasks for measurements and tests. The user interface is explained and individual management tasks are shown. Through extensive practical exercises you learn how to perform all tasks and procedures efficiently.

    MN1780-10, SBS BR 7.0 System Overview

    In this course you acquire a basic understanding of the SBS. The architecture of the PLMN, the connections and the radio interface are explained. The SBS is presented including the architecture, the functions and the configurations. A more detailed look to the BSC, the different BTSE and the TRAU including architecture, functions and configurations completes this overview.

    MN2585-10, RC OBR 7.0 System Specialist

    In this course you learn how to configure and administrate the OMS-B. You will understand the tasks and the functions including the functional units. The configuration and the administration of the OMS-B database including the Q3 interface, x.25 connections, LAN configurations and access to Oracle will be discussed and appropriate practical exercises
