■ Widely varied across the respondents from a high of

$0.
This is dependent on training funds requested from and
approved by the department.
Suggests there is a lack of consistency in training approaches
across agencies.
Needs will vary across agencies. Some may require more
training than others depending on the scope of supports
provided.
■ Supervisor training funding is much lower by
comparison, varying from $0 to $27,000.

Summary Considerations
■ With some slight exceptions, training appears to be generally available
across the regions.
■ Proficiency of staff is desired in every training area. However, training does
not appear to take place to that level despite availability.
■ Areas to consider for further analysis:
Concentration of responses in Winnipeg may skew results toward greater
training availability that may be more challenging in other regions.
Despite potential concentration, proficiency levels remain largely at
Advanced Beginner.
Depth of training may be a factor in terms of:
Employee turnover
Budgetary considerations.
Replacement workers for those on training, including additional wages.
