The CPR in Schools Training Kit is a classroom- based program designed to teach the core skills of CPR in under 30 minutes. This kit contains everything needed to facilitate a CPR in Schools training class for 10 students at once, and the process can easily be repeated to train an entire class, a grade, or even an entire school. Because the manikins are reusable, one CPR in Schools Training Kit can train hundreds of students! What Is Included in the CPR in Schools Training Kit? • 10 individual Mini Anne ® Plus manikins, each with kneel mat and carry bag • 10 practice-while-watching training DVDs • Hand pump for manikin inflation • 2 mesh collection bags • 1 classroom carry bag • 50 replacement airways • 10 replacement faces • 50 manikin wipes • Facilitator Guide Every student should receive his or her own reusable manikin to practice on during the training session. After the first 10 students have been trained, clean the manikins and start training the next 10 students. Additional kits may be purchased to train an entire class at once. Equipment You Will Need CPR in Schools Training Kit • DVD player, remote control, and a monitor or screen that is large enough for all students to see • A table or desk for students who are unable to kneel on the floor to practice CPR • A classroom aor other space that is large enough for thestudents to practice CPR and where you and the DVD can be easily heard Setting Up Your Room • All students should be able to view and hear the training video clearly • Inflate the manikins by using the hand pump - Do NOT inflate the manikins by mouth - Do NOT use an air compressor to inflate the manikins • Inflated manikins may be stored in the mesh collection bags between classes • Manikin placement: - Place 1 manikin per student in a location where students can see the video while they practice CPR - When using the manikins on the floor, place 1 kneel mat by each manikin - Place the manikins in the same direction as the manikin in the video, so students can easily follow along • Have a sturdy table or desk surface available for students who may have difficulty kneeling on the floor to practice • Position yourself in the front of the room, leaving yourself enough space to move around to check on students’ progress • Ask each student to clean the face surface and mouth cavity with a manikin wipe (provided) before beginning • Pull the slider to the “Hard” clicker setting • Start the video, and ask the students to follow along • If students have difficulty achieving clicker feedback with compressions, change the clicker setting to “Soft” • After the training section about AEDs, tell students where AEDs are located in the school building and in their off-campus facilities (such as an outdoor track, pool, or baseball or soccer field) After Class • Collect the inflated manikins in the 2 mesh bags • If teaching how to give breaths, which is recommended when teaching child CPR, replace the airway assembly after each use (discard used airways) • Sanitize the faces between classes. 2 Setting Up

Inflate the manikins by using the hand pump 1. Insert one-way valve into manikin tube as shown2. Insert hand pump nozzle into one-way valve and inflate

Inflated manikins can be stored in the mesh collection bags between classes

Place the manikins so all of the students can see the video while they practice CPR

When using the manikins on the floor, place 1 kneel mat by each manikin

Ask each student to clean the face surface and mouth cavity with a manikin wipe before beginning, using the manikin wipes provided (do not use antibacterial wipes, baby wipes, tissues, or paper towels)

Set the clicker to “Hard”

3 Playing the Video

Start the video, and ask the students to follow along

If students have difficulty achieving clicker feedback with compressions, change the clicker setting to “Soft”

4 After Class

Collect the manikins in the 2 mesh bags

Store the manikins in the mesh collection bags, or deflate the manikins and store them in the individual carry bags with each kneel mat

Store the individual carry bags, mesh collection bags, DVDs, replacement airways, replacement faces, and unused manikin wipes in the large classroom bag until the next use

Remove the chest plateA

Remove the face, and detach the airway at the connector
