Objective : Power electronic converters can be found wherever there is a need to

modify a form of electrical energy. Unprecedented developments

have occurred in modern systems based on monolithic VLSI

components with multimillion transistors of submicron dimensions.

These two reasons have affected the power electronic interface of

products and systems where power quality electronic plays a key role

in control, protection, supervision and motor drives etc.

Objective : The objective of this workshop is to promote and popularize Astronomy among school children. This Program covers both theoretical and observational aspects of basic astronomy. Night sky observations through the GOTO 45cm telescope, the largest optical telescope, in Sri Lanka and usage of modern astronomical instruments such as CCD cameras, spectrograph, photometer etc. will be part of the program.

Target Group : The workshop is tailored for school children, who have a keen interest in Astronomy. Desired age group is between 14 - 20 years.
