Denver has many nearby locations for adventure such as hiking, biking and climbing.

Many locations are available via the RTD busses and trains – no need to drive!

TRAILS TO TREAD

• Take the C or D Line south to the last stop – Littleton/Mineral

• Walk west to South Platte Park and the Carson Nature Center.

• Hike south along the South Platte River to Chatfield State Park and Reservoir.

• Easy hiking on paved and natural surface trails.

• The nature center has fascinating displays and dioramas, and great activities for kids.

• Take the W Line west to the last stop - Jefferson County Government Center / Golden

• Take the pedestrian walkway over 6th Ave to access hiking trails on the Hogback, Apex Park Open Space

• Grab the GS bus-route to downtown Golden – 13th and Ford St.

• Walk north to Clear Creek and walk the trails along the river

• Take the CS, CV or CX routes west along 285 (from the Littleton Light Rail Station ) to access several neat mountain venues for hiking and biking

• Access Meyer Ranch Park on the east side of US Highway 285 from the Aspen Park stop.

• Stay on the bus for a couple more minutes to Conifer for restaurants.

• Take EV/ES/EX routes west on I-70 (from the Golden light rail station )

• Access Matthews / Winters Park via the Hwy 40/Hwy 26 stop. Walk along the trail under I-70 to the park for hiking and biking trails.

• Access Genesee Mountain Park from the Genesee Mountain Park stop (weird!). The park spans both sides of I-70

• Take the BV/BF/BX/BMX bus-routes from Union Station to the Broadway and Euclid stop.

• Take “The Skip” bus north to the Pearl Street Mall stop.

• Hike into Boulder Along the Canyon Rd Bike/Hike Trail

• Grab the N bus-route through scenic Boulder Canyon to Nederland or even all the way to the Eldora Mountain Resort where you can downhill ski, cross-country ski or snowshoe in the winter and hike in the summer and fall.
