Drupa is an event that is celebrated in all Düsseldorf. The entire city dresses in colors to welcome visitors of this great event.

IntroductionSince 2009 FLAAR Reports is engaged in making inventories of the flatbed cutters that are available at major trade shows. For being drupa a very popular tradeshow I expected to find more companies exhibiting their wide format flatbed cutters.

During drupa I was pleasantly surprised to find two new companies entroducing new products to the mar-ket as well some companies that never had the pleasure of meeting during the various trade show around the world.

There are also laser cutters and other kinds but we list here the brands that are more related to flatbed cut-ters that are viable in today’s world of digital printing and digital workflow. Just realize that some brands are more traditional than other brands (this is a polite way of saying that some are old-fashioned).

Aristo• Aristomat LFC 5232

This was the first time that Aristo exhibited its new Aristomat LFC 5232; with 5.10 m x 5.200 m it’ s the biggest flatbed cutter that this company has pro-duced.

The machines can cut, groove, score and mark a wide variety of different roll and plate materials.

During FESPA 2011, the staff of FLAAR Report had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Aristo at Hamburg, Germany and learn a little bit more about the flatbed cutters.

Aristomat LFC 5232

This flatbed cutter can handle both a project of more than four meters as well a smallest format.

The LFC 5232 has up to 250 control-lable vacuum zones that ensures suc-tion distribution, so even the smallest work is securely held on the work surface.

At Drupa Canon had a large booth at which they show the wide diversity of its products (cameras, cutters, UV printers, solvent printers, etc).

In the Elitron booth they exhibited three of their flatbed cutters, this is just a small portion of their complete range of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) cutting systems

At this moment we don’t have enough information to produce an entry-level FLAAR Report about this company and their CAM products.

We hope in the near future to visit their headquarters so we can expand the information.

Re-board cutting samples; these examples achieve their volume across multiple layers.

EskoArtwork exhibited their new Kongsberg NX24 for the very first time at Drupa 2012.

Sooner we will publish an entry-level FLAAR Report on this new cutter; as we have the opportunity to evaluate and inspect in a more detailed manner we will expand the review.

Fujifilm exhibited the NEW EskoArtwork Kongsberg XB20 at their booth; almost all the decoration at the booth was made of honey board, possibly cut with this cutter.

Kingsun International Group exhibited the ZX-1310 flatbed cut-ter. This is the first time that we noticed this cutter, that’s why we don’t have information about this machine. At Drupa we tried to evaluate it but the staff at the booth did not show interest to provide information, so we will try to collect more information at future trade shows.

What happen to the Teckwin TecKut? One of the absent cutters at drupa was the Teckwin TecKut, they only presented their TS-300 and UV3200 TeckPro printers.
