MEET TYPETh e Yale Interscholastic Track Classic is an high school meet, open to high school athletes meeting the entry criteria outlined below.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Please be sure to follow the entry instructions outlined below carefully, to ensure an effi cient and error-free entry process. Failure to adhere to the entry instructions may cause your athletes to not be accepted into the meet.

I) Please complete all entries on DirectAthletics and send entry fee check via NEXT DAY MAIL SERVICE ONLY (FED EX, UPS, USPS) to: Matt McMasters Yale Track Classic Checks must be received 20 Tower Pkwy by Tuesday: January 17, 2017 New Haven, CT 06511

II) Entries MUST be completed on DIRECT ATHLETICS (www.directathletics.com) by no later than Monday, January 16, 2017 at 6:00PM. It is EXTREMELY important that this deadline be met. When entering Friday relays, please be sure to enter the proper class size for your school. By submitt ing your entries via Direct Athletics, you are certifying that all entered athletes are eligible to compete according to NFHS rules. Final acceptances of entries will appear as detailed in section ‘X’ below.

III) Qu alifying performances for all individual events must have been achieved in a bona fi de track and fi eld meet. No entries with practice times or estimated times will be accepted. Be sure to indicate whether the performance was made in yards or meters (particularly in the 3000m). Coaches may use performances from the 2016 outdoor season, however, performances from the 2016 – 17 indoor season will take precedence.

ENTRY INFORMATION (CONTINUED)IV) Th e championship section of the 3000m will now immediately follow the slower sections. Th e top two sections of the Mile will now follow the fi nals of the dashes and hurdles. All other mile sections will take place later in the meet. Participants in the Mile and 3000m sections will be posted on Th ursday January 19th by 5:00PM.

V) Coaches should refer to the event standards (listed on the meet time schedule) where listed. Entries not meeting the standards will NOT BE ACCEPTED into the meet. Please enter only athletes who meet the standards. In the Shot Put and High Jump we will limit the fi eld to the top twenty-fi ve (25) entries. In the weight throw we will limit the fi eld to the top fi ft een (15) entrants. Th e high jump will start at 1” below the entry standard.

VI) ONLY FOUR ENTRIES PER SCHOOL WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE FOLLOW-ING INDIVIDUAL EVENTS. 55m, 55h, 400m, AND ALL FIELD EVENTS. We will seed the hurdles and dashes prior to the meet, and heat sheets will be available on Wednesday January 18th by 5:00PM.

VII) In the Boys and Girls 3000m we will only accept the top 300 entries. Th ose not accepted into the meet will not appear on the fi nal entry list.

VIII) All schools may enter only one relay team per event. Exception - Connecticut Schools may enter a Connecticut Relay and a Class relay with diff erent personnel in the 4x400m and 4x800m ONLY. If a school competes in a class relay on Friday, they may not enter the same championship relay on Saturday.

IX) Performances of previously entered athletes may be updated until Monday January 16th at 6:00PM. Updates should be done via the Direct Athletics website.

X) All entries accepted into the meet will be posted on the Yale website (www.yale-bulldogs.com) Follow the links to Track, and the Yale High School Track Classic. Entries will be posted by Wednesday, January 18, 2016. Athletes not accepted into the meet will not show up on the entry lists.

ENTRY FEESTh e entry fee is $20.00 for each individual event entered and $30.00 for each relay event entered. Th is entry fee or school voucher must accompany your roster submission (see ‘I’ above). Entries will not be accepted unless we receive the entry fee or voucher. Th is is an entry fee, not a participation fee.

Th e entry materials are the only materials we provide and should serve as the invoice. Please be sure that your business offi ce understands this. We have included a signed W-9 form below if your business offi ce requires it.

National and State Federation sanctions have been applied for.

Note to Connecticut Coaches: Only Connecticut schools which have boys or girls in-door track teams registered with the C.I.A.C. may compete in this meet.

ADDITIONAL COACHES INFORMATIONi) All athletes entered in the meet must be eligible high school athletes and they must participate only for their high school. No club entries can be accepted.

ii) Th e Connecticut State rule of any three events on either day will be used for this meet. Th is means all athletes may compete in any three events on each day.

iii) Th e no false start rule will be in eff ect for this competition. Please be sure to make your athletes aware of this before the competition begins. NOTE: Starting blocks will be permitt ed in fi nal races only.

iv) Otherwise, National Federation rules will apply.

v) FOR ALL CONNECTICUT SCHOOLS: On your 1600-Meter Relay entries please indicate your CIAC classifi cation for Track and Field. (L, M, Etc.)

vi) Th e Coxe Cage Indoor Track is a 200 Meter, banked oval with Beynon surface track.

All weigh-ins will take place on the infi eld of the track by the throws cage. Weigh-ins will close thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the competition.

Only 1/4” PYRAMID or CHRISTMAS TREE spikes are permitt ed at Coxe Cage.

Personal electronic devices are prohibited in the warm-up and competition areas. NO HEADPHONES OR CELL PHONES ARE PERMITTED IN THE COMPETITION AREA.

EQUIPMENT / IMPLEMENT INFORMATION

Yale will have a certifi ed athletic trainer on site for the entire duration of the event. Please see the facility map below for the athletic trainer’s station location.

EVENT CHECK-INAll student-athletes in running events must report to the clerk of course, located in the southeast corner of the building at least thirty (30) minutes prior to his/her event.

All student-athletes in fi eld events must report to the head offi cial at his/her event area at least thirty (30) minutes prior to his/her event.

PACKET PICK-UPPackets can be picked up and entry fees can be paid at the announcers stand on the north wall of Coxe Cage (see facility map below).

Packet pick-up will begin at 8:00AM and close at 11:00AM.

TIMING / RESULTSTiming for the Yale Interscholastic Track Classic will be handled by First Time Out.

BRING ALL TIMING QUESTIONS TO A YALE STAFF MEMBER, NOT THE TIMERS. USE THE PROBLEM SOLVER SHEETS LOCATED IN YOUR PACKET TO PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION TO RESOLVE ANY ISSUES.
