November 2012
Hi Team!
For this month’s newsletter, I was asked to share my comments about Work and Life Balance.
First I want to start by saying that we are approaching another Calendar Year period. A time of the
year that is characterized to be high demand for TPMS as the LA Markets are approaching to close
these year’s Promotional Payments, and revamp their Fund strategy for the second half of the Fiscal
Year.
As last FYE period, there is no doubt in my mind that TPMS will accomplish excellence in all
processes, working with lots of commitment on quality and on timely finish.
It is in times like these, where there is a lot of work and we are subject to a big amount of stress,
that we should be more disciplined to have routines or activities that can bring some relief to our
day. I know that after long hours on the office is difficult to think of something else than rest, but in
my experience, doing something you really enjoy makes a difference for the next day.
I read some articles about Work – Life balance, and extracted 3 top tips:
•Include your personal activities on your daily schedule
Planning your personal activities should be equally important as your professional activities.
For example if you want to visit a friend on Monday after work. Put it right on your calendar. This
way the chance is that you won’t miss this, as we don’t miss any of our business meetings. Eat a
healthy diet, include physical activity in your daily routine and get enough sleep. Reserve the time
each day for an activity that you enjoy, such as practicing yoga or reading. Better yet, discover
activities you can do with your partner, family or friends.
On my experience, planning my afternoons for going to exercise makes me go and not get
distracted on other activities.

•Exercise
For instance, personally I love to go and exercise on the afternoons after work.
Back more than a year ago I started going swimming, I really felt being on the pool doing laps
got my mind absolutely distracted from my daily pending and also made me sleep better every
night. Now I also like to get Boxing training, I find it very stress relief.
You don’t need to go to the gym to exercise, you can do an easy routine on your house or even
walk around your neighborhood. No matter how much you make, it does make a difference to do
any kind of exercise at least 30 min a day.
•Eat Healthy
One real bad habit that comes on periods of work increase, is to eat unhealthy and fast. Eating is
one of the most important activities of the day, and we should take it seriously.
•Eat a healthy diet.
•Try not to eat on your desk, go to the cafeteria and use this time to get yourself distracted and
socialize with your co-workers.
•Take enough time to eat and chat, to reenergize yourself to go back to work.
I want to thank for the request from Anurag and Narasaiah to talk about this, it made me also to
rethink my daily activities and hope it works for you too!

P&G SPOT
Birth of an Icon: Crest
If you think about it, Crest toothpaste has made a huge impact in the realm of preventive
healthcare. Those two words were not commonly used together seventy years ago.
Building a business on the idea of preventing something could have been seen as a risky
idea. Now, it has become a revolutionary medical and lifestyle strategy embraced by
consumers and doctors around the world.
Crest had been on the market for five years already without that endorsement, but once it
was awarded, demand for Crest skyrocketed. Within six months, it was not only the
number one toothpaste in the U.S., it was also changing the way dentists thought about
oral care. Until then, dentists’ main business was restorative work. The Crest
Professional Services program showed dentists that prevention was possible, which
helped redefine the profession. In 1976, Crest was honored by the American Chemical
Society as being among the great discoveries of the past 100 years.
P&G built Crest into a strong oral care leader. Soon consumers were successfully
preventing previous levels of tooth decay, so they began looking for another benefit – the
look of their smile.
We’re proud and humbled that Crest is now a regular part of the everyday oral hygiene
routine for millions of consumers. Let’s face it, brushing wasn’t a regular habit,
toothpastes weren’t nearly as effective and smiles not as bright before it came along.
Crest changed things, helping millions understand the concept that preventing decay and
disease is a solid strategy to keeping healthy

DIWALI CELEBRATIONSDiwali (also spelled Devali in certain regions) or Deepavali, popularly
known as the "festival of lights," is primarily a five day Hindu festival
which starts on Dhanteras, on which most Indian business communities
begin their financial year. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between
mid-October and mid-November. Diwali is an official holiday in India. For
Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is
celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their
homes. The name "Diwali" or "Divali" is a contraction of "Deepavali"
which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small
clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These
lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in
order to make the goddess Lakshmi feel welcome. Firecrackers are burst
because it is believed that it drives away evil spirits. During Diwali, all the
celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family
members and friends.
Happy Children’s DayIn India, the Children's Day is celebrated on 14 November, the birthday of the
country's first Prime Minister [Jawaharlal Nehru 14 November 1889 – 27 May
1964)]. Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) by the kids,
emphasized the importance of giving love and affection to children, who he saw as
the bright future of India. Children's Day is a public holiday.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru served as the first Prime Minister of India from August 15, 1947
to May 27, 1964. He played an important role in creating infrastructure for the welfare,
education and development of children. He helped construct thousands of schools all over
India and it was his vision that one day, every child from each of the farthest corners of
the country would have access to free primary education. It was his passion towards
the advancement of children’s rights that has resulted in his birthday being celebrated
as Children’s Day every year
The “Day of the Dead” is a Mexican holiday celebrated
throughout Mexico. The holiday focuses on gatherings of
family and friends to pray for and remember friends and
family members who have died. The celebration takes place
on November 1, (All Saints' Day) dedicated to children, and
November 2 (All Souls’ Day) dedicated to adults. Traditions
include building private altars honoring the deceased using
sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages
of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts.
