UPDATES FROM DEPARTMENTS …
Finance
o As of September 2, the Town has collected $858,248 (93%) of the July 2016 Utility Billing ($926,832)
o As of September 2, the Town has collected $1,482,748 (97%) of the FY 2017 Property Tax Billing ($1,533,832)
o A total of 120 disconnect notices were mailed and properties posted. Disconnect date is September 19
Wastewater
o Lagoon depths: Large Lagoon is 3.00 feet and Small Lagoon is 3.00 feet o Exercised all generators in preparation of impending weather o Pulled pump 1 at Plaza pump station and replaced with spare. Old pump sent out for
repair o Replaced gearbox on Prettyman irrigation rig at Baxter Farms
Public Works
o Ran street sweeper downtown o Coordinated new sidewalk at Georgetown Elementary/Middle School o Set up for Thursday Concert at 16 Mile

Police
o Significant Incident Reports and Press Releases distributed as prepared o Weekly and Year to Date crime statistics (selected crimes) updated (copy attached) o Held wreath laying ceremony honoring Chad Spicer (See photo 1)
Planning
o Met with Office of State Planning to review revision to Downtown Development District boundaries
o Comprehensive Plan Outreach event on September 1 – good response o Sussex Academy – Temporary CO issued for part of 30,000 SF addition (valid until
October 14) o Primeros Pasos – building permit issued for tenant fit out on two buildings
TOWN MANAGER’S UPDATE …
Issued Condemnation Order on structure damaged by fire Addressed realtor questions regarding a parcel with a non-conforming use Met with local commercial property owner to address code violations and corrective
actions needed Met with Office of State Planning to review revision to Downtown Development District
boundaries and discuss upcoming educational session with DSHA (Gene Dvornick, Jocelyn Godwin)
Updated website to include information relating to the Comprehensive Plan effort: Plan Georgetown (Comprehensive Plan) Comprehensive Plan Online Survey
Participated in Sussex County All Hazard Mitigation Plan – addressing concerns, risks, and potential mitigation actions for Georgetown
Reviewed issues with Delaware Tech Water Plant with Town Engineer and options to address the issues (Bill Bradley, Gene Dvornick, Bill West)
Attended Wreath Laying at Chad Spicer Memorial Participated in Comprehensive Plan Outreach event at final Summer Concert (Jamie
Craddock, Gene Dvornick, Jocelyn Godwin) Completed updates via eGrants for Program 1368 (Technology Updates) – finalizing
Budget Detail and Recipient Agency Budget Addressed new code violations and followed up on several existing violations
