Handled several legal issues that arose near the end of the year Signed final plans for Sun Behavioral Attended Appreciation Event for the Delaware Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness
(Gene Dvornick, Jocelyn Godwin, Bill West) Researched documentation and answered questions regarding the bond reduction for
College Park Utility Construction Worked with KCI Technologies to update Town website with Downtown Development
District information including an online interactive map of properties within the designated district
Attended Sussex County Association of Towns dinner meeting (Gene Dvornick, Steve Hartstein, Rebecca Johnson-Dennis, Chris Lecates, Bob Holston, and Bill West). Guest speaker was Governor-elect Carney
Represented the Town of Georgetown during an independent review of the benefits and values the Downtown Delaware Program provides to Main Street affiliate members
Addressed FOP Contract questions regarding vacation accruals Attended SCAT Steering Committee (Gene Dvornick, Bill West) – discussion on the
following: 2016 Legislative Breakfast – to be scheduled in late March/early April Potential legislative issues for the New (149th) General Assembly

grams:CoolandConnectedCommunitiesInitiative—leveragingbroadbandandWiFitech‐nologiesindowntownrevitalization,andthedesignationasaDowntownDevelopmentDis‐trict(DDD),whichbringsmanyincentivesprovidedbythestate,countyandlocalgovern‐ment.Thesearegreatthingsthatwillhaveapositiveimpactforourcommunityforyearsto
come.Andthisisjustthebeginning‐wehaveseveralmorebusinessesthataremakingplanstocometoGeorgetown!
AtthetimeofthisletterIhopetosaywehavestartedconstructionontheTownHallAnnex.Thefirstpartofthisprojectistheroof‐removingtheoldandinstallationofa
newroof.Oncethisiscompletednewwindowswillbeinstalledandwecanbeginworkontheinterior.WearehopingwithgoodweatherwewillbereadytomoveinbyOctober.
Wearelookingforoldphotosofthetowntodisplaywithinthebuilding.Ifyouhaveanyoftheseandwouldliketoprovidethemtothetownfordisplay,pleasecallTownHall.
WithyourhelptheTownHallAnnexwillreflectthehistoryofGeorgetown.
OncetheAnnexiscompleted,wewillbemovingforwardwiththeremodelingandrestorationofourpresentTownHall.ThisbuildingwillbecometheTownCouncilCham‐berswithstateoftheartaudioandvideoequipmentformeetings.
TheTownofGeorgetownisprivilegedtohaveSenatorBrianPettyjohnandRepre‐sentativeRuthBriggsKingrepresentingourcommunity.Theyhavehadaverypositiveim‐pactonlookingoutforthebestinterestofthetownandcommunity.Workingwiththemhasbeenveryrewarding.Theycontinuetoassistbyattendingmeetingswithdevelopers,
businessowners,DelDOTandseveralotherstateagenciestoexpeditetheprocessofopen‐ingabusinessintown.
OneofthemostimportantbenefitsprovidedbySenatorPettyjohnandRepresenta‐tiveBriggsKingisthemoniesforstreetrepair.TheCouncilandIareattemptingtopave
twostreetseveryyearthatareownedbytheTown.Justasareminder,DelDOTcontrolsallofEastandWestMarketStreet,alongwithallofNorthandSouthBedfordStreet.OneofourupcomingprojectsinvolvesBurgerKingDrive,apropertythatwaspreviouslyownedbyfivebusinessesbutwithmuchworkbythetown,hasnowbecomeourpropertysowecanmake
themuchneededimprovementsforthesafetyofourcommunity.
TheCouncilandIwishyouthebestintheNewYear!WearecontinuingtoworkhardtomakeGeorgetownagreatplacetoliveandwork.

The calendar below is marked with Georgetown’s collection dates. You’ll also notice that dates following a holiday will be picked up the following day.
We also would like you to know that safety for you, your family, and our employees remains our number one priority. During inclement weather, your schedule may be altered. You can track inclement weather alerts online at www.wasteindustries.com.
*Collection services will be delayed by ONE day during the holiday week, beginning the date of the holiday.
