Hi Jennifer,I am writing to recommend Suzie Bruch for appointment to the town PlanningCommission.

As a fellow Trails Committee member, I know Suzie is very knowledgeable of theneeds of our town. In meetings she is an active participant, smart, well spoken, involved and just plain enjoyable to work with. She serves the town in other ways -her passion for doing so is obvious - and she is in full support of maintaining andimproving the rural and equestrian nature of Woodside for all residents and visitorsalike.

Woodside would be well served to have someone of Suzie's caliber on its PlanningCommission. Please pass along this recommendation to the Town Council.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Dear Woodside Town Council Members,

I wholeheartedly encourage you to appoint Suzie Bruch to the Planning Commission. I haveknown Suzie as a Trails Committee fellow member for several years. She is thoughtful, caringand respectful. Suzie is a good listener and active participant. When voicing an opinion, shedoes so respectfully.

I was very happy that Suzie brought up an unsafe part of the pedestrian/equestrian trail onMountain Home to the Trails Committee. Her diligence and care led to the Committee's votingto improve that part of the trail, making it much safer.

Suzie's respectfulness, humor and thoughtful insights make her a great choice for the PlanningCommission. Please appoint her to this very important post.

    Sincerely,Holly Nash166 Raymundo Drive

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm writing to you in support of Suzie Bruch's candidacy for the Planning Commission. Mywife and I are the beneficial owners of 396 Raymundo Dr., though the house is held through atrust for privacy. The trustees can verify that for you, if necessary.

We've known Suzie (and her husband Josh) for over 15 years now, and see them bothregularly for game nights at their Woodside home. She is highly rational & analytical, but alsohas the very important soft skills needed to work well with all sorts of people, as she doesdaily in her medical career. She has excellent character and a strong moral compass. And shecares deeply about Woodside, having been a long-time resident who I can't really ever seeleaving, given her love of the equestrian lifestyle afforded by Woodside. Her enthusiasm forWoodside was definitely an influence when we decided to purchase our property in 2017! Asa homeowner and part-time resident of Woodside, we would be thrilled to have her on theplanning commission.

Feel free to contact me with questions at 650-575-9186.

    All the best,Ben Davenport

  • February 10, 2020 To: Mayor Fluet, Mayor Pro-Tem Dombkowski, Council members Brown, Livermore, Shaw, Scott, and Yost I am writing to support the appointment of Dr. Suzanne Bruch to the Planning Commission for District 1. Since joining the Trails Committee several years ago, she has been an active and extremely positive contributor. Her contributions belie the fact that she joined in 2018. She has brought a lot to the party. In addition to her many contributions to the Trails Committee, Suzie has been an effective coordinator in her role as Liaison to the Equestrian Heritage Livestock Committee. In my view, both committees have benefited in a number of ways from her dedicated efforts. Suzanne is objective, fair and considerate of other people on the committee. She also does her homework. I can personally vouch for the qualifications she lists on her application: she is what she says she is. The equestrian community lacks representation on the Planning Commission and while that would be a plus, that’s not the main reason Ms. Bruch should be appointed. Planning commissioners need to be objective, really get the General Plan and not throw the community under the bus by allowing themselves to be driven by their personal agendas. Suzie Bruch fits that description. We need Suzie Bruch and more people like her on the Planning Commission. Respectfully, Maggie Mah

    Dear Kevin,

Please forward to the Woodside Mayor and Town Council Members.

I am writing in support of Suzie Bruch's application to serve on the Woodside Town PlanningCommittee for the next two years.

Suzie and I both serve on the Town's Trails Committee and Equestrian Heritage and LivestockCommittee. She and I frequently cross paths on the Woodside Town and private trails andhave been riding together at multiple occasions.

I have come to know Suzie as a hard working, intelligent, detail oriented, objective equestrian,on a mission to uphold Woodside's General Plan and guiding principles. She has quicklytaken on the role of Chair Person of the Equestrian Heritage and Livestock Committee and isdedicated to maintain the rural character of our town, while aiming to protect and enhance theequestrian heritage. Suzie has volunteered to head or participate in multiple projects in thecommittees she serves on.

As a steering committee member of the Woodside-area Horse Owners Association (WHOA!),I also value Suzie's assistance and dedication to the annual Day of the Horse activities andmultiple additional organizations interested in equestrian activities.

Suzie is a person who will do the necessary research and dig into history, records andguidelines to form an objective opinion on any subject before her. She is a good listener anddiplomatic discussion partner who will serve as a valuable member of the Woodside PlanningCommission if she is given the chance.

I am encouraging the Town of Woodside Council members to support Suzanne (Suzie) Bruchwith their vote.

Unfortunately, I will be out of town on February 11, 2020, therefor not allowing me to bringthis support in front of the Woodside Town Council, in person.

    Greetings Council members:

I want to convey my support for Dr Bruch as a candidate for the Planning Department District 1 spot. I have servedon the Trails Committee with Susie for 3+ years and have found her to be a considerate, thoughtful and engagedparticipant. She has not hesitated to step up to investigate issues facing the Town trails, and related concerns, andhas frequently gone the extra step to find solutions to issues that work to the benefit of all parties concerned.

Susie is one of those folks who strikes you as not only extremely bright, and dedicated, but one who is genuinelyinterested in the balanced solution; giving sincere attention to both sides of an argument and working hard to reach amutually acceptable resolution .

We are very fortunate to have someone like Dr Bruch choosing to involve herself in our community.

Thank you all, for your continued support of Woodside.

    Woodside Town Council

I would like to support the application of Suzie Bruch for the Town Planning Commission.

I met Suzie some years ago, when we were boarding our horses at the same barn. I found herto be a pleasant, interesting and intelligent person. Having been on the Trails Committee formany years, we often discussed the issues related to the Woodside trail system. Ourconversations evolved to her interest on the future of Woodside, and how the rules, regulationsand planning decisions were made.

She subsequently applied and joined the Trails Committee and quickly got up to speed on theissues facing us. She put a lot of time and effort on various projects in the Committee andprovided valuable insight and analysis. She also joined the Livestock and Equestrian HeritageCommittee and is very supportive of the Equestrian Heritage element of the General Plan

She understands and supports the many other aspects of the Woodside General Plan, andwants to dedicate her time and energy to help the Town by being on the PlanningCommission.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  • February 10, 2020 Woodside Town Council Independence Hall Woodside, CA 94062 Re: Candidacy of Suzanne (Suzie) Bruch for the Town Planning Commission Dear Woodside Town Council and Community members: I am writing in support of Suzanne (Suzie) Bruch for the Woodside Planning Commission. I encountered Suzie when she came to serve on the Livestock and Equestrian Heritage Committee (LEHC) a few years ago. She was also serving the Town on the Trails Committee. Suzie immediately immersed herself in the LEHC projects: publication of an informative notebook on Keeping Horses in Woodside and a tri-fold brochure of contacts and services available to horse and livestock owners. These publications were valuable tools for educating the Town of Woodside governing bodies and horse owners of the best practices of horse husbandry. Woodside’s original master plan envisioned a small, unique rural town with an equestrian presence. Suzie embraces these sentiments and lives them. She is the ideal candidate for the Planning Commission. It is not just an interest in preserving the Town’s rural atmosphere, but her leadership qualities and work ethic that would be assets to the Planning Commission. She is intelligent, thoughtful, not overly reactionary, fair-minded, a good listener and a hard worker. Suzie Bruch has a clear understanding of the policies, laws, ordinances and goals of future development for the Town of Woodside which includes the trail system, businesses, housing and safety needs. Suzie Bruch has had an important impact on the LEHC and Trail Committees, but the need for a well-informed Planning Commission is great and Suzie is the one for this position. She will be tremendous asset to the Planning Commission and I strongly endorse her. Sincerely, Diane Garcia

    Hello Jennifer,

I am writing in support of Suzie Bruch's application for the Planning Commission. She would be a fantastic addition to this commission. I've interacted with Suzie in several capacities, including the Trails Committee. I've been impressed not only by her attention to detail, thoughtful fairness, ability to understand and research complex ordinances but also by her commitment to her committeeassignments. She is knowledgable regarding many aspects of our Town, General Plan, and townpolicies.

She would join the committee to solve problems, not create them. I can't recommend her more highly.

Suzie and I currently serve together on the Livestock and Equestrian Heritage Committee (LEHC), where I have had the opportunity to work closely with her. Having served as Chair myself for several terms over the past two decades, I’m very familiar with what it takes to be in that position. Suzie is, and has been, an outstanding Chair, and leader. She is eminently qualified to advance to the Planning Commission, and in that capacity would be a terrific asset to the Town, Staff, and Residents of Woodside. She has the qualities needed: smart, responsible, diligent, knowledgeable, open-minded, generous with her time and effort, personable, and more. She is always eager to learn more, do research, and listen to all opinions. Suzie has excellent interpersonal skills, having worked exceptionally well with the LECH members, Town Staff, and Residents. I strongly, enthusiastically, urge you to give your utmost consideration to Suzie Bruch for this appointment, and hope very much she receives your approval for Planning Commissioner.
