Japan’sstrugglestokeeppacewithGlobaltrendstowardsgenderequality.Japanesewomenfallshortincompensation,lackopportunitiesforsenior-levelpromotions,andfeel unsupportedbytheiremployers. CareeradvancementopportunitiesaremoreavailabletoJapanesemen,whodominateseniorpositons.Japanesewomenreporttohavemorepassiveattitudes towardstheircareerscomparedtoGlobalwomen,whotakeproactivestepstowardscareergoals.WhileJapanesewomenmore stronglyacknowledgeexistenceofbarriersinbusiness,theyarelessinterestedinadvancingintheircareercomparedtotheirGlobalcounterparts.
