: Introduction Nowadays teenagers are faced with many challenges and most are misled by bad influence. Teenagers neglect that the fact that they are the acid for building a better future. So our aim is to show them how to handle issues related to themselves and their role in building their society. So we will first start with:Personal experiences (told by a teenager)a) A successful story.b) A sad story.

a) A successful story:

1)am 16 years old. When I was 11, I started smoking cigarettes because of a friend. At age 12, I started getting into alcohol and hanging out with gang members. At 13, I started smoking marijuana. At 14, I started doing hard drugs. I pulled a knife and swung at my dad. Luckily, I missed. I love my dad because he is the person who brought me into this world. I didn't realize that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here. When I was using, I had a lot of problems. Me and my dad got into a fight. We were hitting each other. The cops came. I tried to jump over the wall in my backyard. The cops grabbed me, and handcuffed me. My mom and dad had to decide whether to send me to juvenile hall. My mom said yes but my dad said no. I was released but that didn't stop me from using drugs. When I was in the 7th grade, I got arrested for possession and use of marijuana. I was kicked out of school for a year. After that year, I didn't go back. I was kicked out by my parents. After 4 years of life on the streets, I was hanging out with my homies, getting drunk and doing dope every day.Now I have been drug-free for almost a year. I finally came back to school. I am succeeding in school and life. I realize now that doing dope is not cool. I want to finish high school and go to college. I want to be an attorney. I hope my story touches somebody's heart, and I hope that whoever reads it will realize that doing drugs is not the way to go.

Sad story:From a news paper:A jury ruled Wednesday that a school district was negligent - but not responsible - for the alcohol-poisoning deaths of two 11-year-old boys who skipped class and died after drinking half a gallon of vodka. Jurors awarded no damages to the parents of Justin Benoist and Frankie Nicolai III, who sued the Ronan School District, alleging officials failed to notify them the boys had left school on Feb. 27, 2004.It was the school's job to notify them of their child's absence. It was not the school's job to notify them of an absence before their 11-year-olds (!) could drink a half-gallon of vodka. So this shows that teenagers may end theirlives tragically if not guided.

Inspiring poems:

(1Touching insightful words:We learn

From ants not to be desiderate From bees to be organized

From camel to be patient From roster to wake up early

From falcon to be proud From flowers to be soft and shiny

2) So what if I'm not as you expected!I'm different, I'm not like you.

Is this a reason for me to be neglected?I do my own thing; to me this world is new.

My thoughts and opinions are not to your liking,But I love how I am.

I know you find my personality shocking,But I'm only human.

I don't want to conform;I like to stand out

On this I stand stern,To be an individual! I shout,

But you try to tie me down,Clip my wings, so I cannot fly.

Page 9: Towards Creating A better Generation

If I conform, all you'll see is my frown.I feel smothered, like I will die.

So what if I'm different!Love me for who I am!

You do know that 'm God sent,But I feel as though my life is sham.

I'm not going to change to please you!You say I rebel,

But is this really true?Sometimes my life feels like a living Hell!

Whatever my crime,I refuse to change.

I would much rather serve my time,I simply refuse to listen to a word you say!

You just have to dealTake me as I am, or leave me alone.

I have the time to killAs you sit there deciding on how to make me your clone,But I am what I am,And I'm comfortable with being me,

I hate living this shame!Loving myself, now that's the true key.
