Main objectives
• Show benefits & challenges of joint monitoring in the North Sea and the Celtic Sea: – potential for multi-use of platforms (ships, planes,
buoys…) – constructive network between institutions (fisheries
and environmental monitoring) – planning and evaluation tools to enhance the outcome
of monitoring with regard to evaluation of GES
• Resulting in increased efficiency & reduced costs
• With an eye on transferability to other (sub) regions: North Sea and Celtic Sea and potentially beyond

• Reacts to RSCs common indicators
• Elaborates logistics of improved integration
• Estimates cost-benefit compared to current monitoring programmes/surveys
