Welcome to Hotel El Mono Feliz We hope you will enjoy your stay here at our little paradise. In this brochure you will find all kind of tours and trips you can make in Ojochal or in the surroundings. Start your voyage of discovery in the early morning, that is the best time to see the wildlife. If you go to the beach, do NOT take any valuable belongings. Leave your electronics, passports, creditcards etc. in your room or ask the reception to store it for you at a safe place.

Traveling by car: take a photocopy of your passport with you: the page with your photo on it and the page with the migration stamp you got entering Costa Rica. Also take a copy of your drivers license with you.

National Park Corcovado

In the early morning you drive to Sierpe, from where you take the boat on the river Sierpe with its mangroves. Then you cross part of the the ocean to San Pedrillo Ranger Station at Corcovado National Park. Once there the guide will take you on a 3 hour hike through the park.

Caño Island snorkling

In the early morning you drive to Sierpe, from where you take toe boat boat on the river Sierpe with its mangroves. Then you cross part of the ocean to Caño Island. At the island you will have two snorkeling sessions.

Whale watching and dolphin tour

Departure in Uvita at 08.30 AM until 12:00. An ocean trip, spotting whales and dolphins and turtles, including snorkling near Isla Ballena. The whales are mostly seen in the periods: Aug-Nov and Jan-April.

Osa Canopy tour

The Canopy has 11 cables, one cable is longer than 500 meters and the shortest is 91 meters, 16 platforms all with a beautiful ocean- and mountainview.

Nauyaca Waterfalls

Don Lulo’s horse back tour to the famous Nauyaca Waterfalls, including breakfast and lunch at his finca. One of the waterfalls measures forty five meters of height in free fall and the other twenty meters of height in staggered fall, forming on its foot a pool of one thousand square meters and six meters of depth. There are other small sized natural swimming pools, where you can have a lot of fun with the whole family.

Hacienda Barú Dominical

At Hacienda Barú National Wildlife Refuge, 7 kms of walking trails lead into the fascinating world of tropical ecology, a true path of discovery. Canopy tour available.

Oro Verde Tours

Near Uvita you can make different tours: birdwatching-, hiking-, and horseback tours. These tours are all guided.

Boruca

Visit the village of Boruca where the native people of Costa Rica live. They make wonderful masks and woven cloth in natural colours. Ask us for details!

Marino Ballena

This national park has several entrances at the Costanera, the highway between Ojochal and Uvita. You only can visit the beaches.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The sea enters into the caves and you will see the power of the water. Quiet beach at ten minutes from our hotel.
