Dear Players,
It s my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the Capital Classic XXVII. Whether you’ve traveled 3,000 miles or 3,000 feet, the Cap Classic Committee and I thank you for choosing to compete in our tournament. We hope you enjoy your time in our nation’s capital.
Our tournament would not be possible without the generous support of our wonderful sponsors, our amazing volunteers from the Washington AIDS Partnership, and folks from the Capital Tennis Association who have volunteered their time, skills, equipment, even homes to make this weekend happen. A big thank you to everyone!
And while you may be keeping your eyes on the prize, i.e., our “monumental” trophies, our gaze is squarely set on you and making sure you have the best tournament experience possible. If at the end of the weekend you’re not saying, “Gee, I can’t wait to come back next year!” then we haven’t done our job. So please, if there’s anything we can do to improve your time with us, do not hesitate to let one of us know.
But above all else: have fun. Appreciate the privilege of being able to play this sport and that the same love for tennis has brought us all together. No matter your level, this is your time to shine, to play your game, and even to make some new friends alongthe way.
Alright, let’s do this, y buena suerte a todos!
Love all,Isidro Mariscal Tournament Director, Capital Classic XXVII

Dear Capital Classic XXVII Players,
Welcome to the Capital Classic XXVII!
On behalf of Capital Tennis Association and its Board of Directors, we are excited to have you as part of this year’s tournament and look forward to a great weekend of tennis.
Isidro Mariscal, our new Tournament Director, and the tournament committee have worked tirelessly the past few months trying to make this a premier stop on the GLTA tour. There are many new additions on-site, providing you with an even better tournament experience, and I hope you take advantage of all of them.
One of the greatest things about the GLTA community and its network of tournaments is the opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friends. Thank you to those who have traveled to D.C. from across the US to play this year’s tournament.
Lastly, thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and CTA members. The success of this tournament would not be possible without your continued support.
Good luck and may you only hit winners!

Per GLTA regulations, the Tournament Director reserves the right to shorten the length/scoring of all matches due to inclement weather, scheduling delays, or other reasons in the best interests of completing the tournament on time. However, all efforts will be made to ensure that every match played within a certain level in the same round (i.e. all A singles, round of 64 matches) are scored in the same manner.
REST PERIODS & EXTREME HEATMinimum rest period times are governed by GLTA rules. Players will receive a minimum rest period of 30 minutes following completion of a singles match or 15 minutes following completion of a doubles match. All tournament participants, by registering for the tournament, acknowledge receipt of this sexual harassment and non-discrimination policy and agree to be bound thereby. Violations of these policies shall be referred to the Tournament Director for sanction, which may include default, expulsion from the tournament and/or referral to appropriate government/law enforcement agencies.
