TOURIST SITES (BOYACA)Boyac is one of 32 departments of
Colombia. It is located in the middle east, being Tunja capital. In
the territory of Boyac there a great variety of tourist sites as:1.
PAIPAPaipa is located in the valley of Chicamocha, in a region that
has important thermal water sources. In the environs of the nearby
lake of Sochagota, a modern tourist infrastructure with good hotels
and restaurants has been developed, as well as a complete
convention center equipped with all the facilities to celebrate
events of any type.The lake is good for practicing water sports
like ski and sail; is one of the most beautiful places of Boyaca,
with an approximate area of 60 square kilometers and famous by his
delicious rainbow trouts, in the surroundings there are strong
temperature fluctuations, which can oscillate between zero and 22
degrees Celsius.
2. SOGAMOSOThe so-called City of the Sun and Steel is the
capital of the province of Sogamoso, yonder is celebrated the
Festival of the Sun and Steel is carried out each month of July, in
which the National Pageant of the Sun and Steel is celebrated, with
the participation of representatives of all the country. Its
recognized bullfighting fair is well known in Latin America; many
famous bullfighters have come to this fair.
3. SNOWCAPPED PEAKS OF EL COCUYThe snowcapped Peaks of El Cocuy
has one of the most beautiful lakes and valleys of our country: The
first one is the lake La Plaza, and the second one is the Valley of
the Cojines; this last one is a solemn and silent extension of
several kilometers, surrounded by giant rocky walls, covered by
very resistant green vegetal weaveThe peaks give birth to nearly 80
rivers and creeks that originate in the snow or in the highlands,
while the internal lakes drain towards the east, creating very high
cascades that feed the rivers of the Orinoquia, those of the
western drain do it towards the Magdalena River. At the sierra you
can see diverse tropical fauna: Tigers, pumas, "tigrillos", tapirs,
deer, bears, monkeys as "choyo", "araguato" or "braceadora". Among
the birds that set their dominions are the Andean Condor, the
paujil copete de piedra, the gatillo de roca, and several species
of ducks.

capital Tunja. En el territorio de Boyac existe una gran variedad
de sitios tursticos como:1. PAIPAPaipa se encuentra en el valle del

aguas termales. En los alrededores del lago cercano de Sochagota,
una infraestructura turstica moderna, con buenos hoteles y
restaurantes se ha desarrollado, as como un centro de convenciones
completa equipada con todas las instalaciones para celebrar eventos
de cualquier tipo.El lago es buena para la prctica de deportes
acuticos como el esqu y la vela; es uno de los lugares ms hermosos
de Boyac, con una superficie aproximada de 60 kilmetros cuadrados y
famoso por sus deliciosas truchas arco iris, en los alrededores hay
fuertes fluctuaciones de temperatura, que pueden oscilar entre cero
y 22 grados Celsius.
2. SOGAMOSOLa llamada Ciudad del Sol y del Acero es la capital
de la provincia de Sogamoso, all se celebra el Festival del Sol y
del Acero se lleva a cabo cada mes de julio, en la que el Reinado
Nacional del Sol y del Acero se celebra, con la participacin de
representantes de todo el pas. Su reconocida feria taurina es bien
conocido en Amrica Latina; muchos toreros famosos han llegado a
esta feria.
3. NEVADOS PICOS DE El COCUYLos picos nevados de El Cocuy tiene
uno de los ms hermosos lagos y valles de nuestro pas: El primero de
ellos es el lago de La Plaza, y el segundo es el Valle de los
Cojines; esta ltima es una extensin solemne y silenciosa de varios
kilmetros, rodeado de paredes rocosas gigantescas, cubierto por muy
resistente de tejido vegetal verdeLos picos de dar a luz a cerca de
80 ros y arroyos que se originan en la nieve o en las tierras
altas, mientras que los lagos internos drenan hacia el este,
creando muy altas cascadas que alimentan los ros de la Orinoquia,
los del drenaje occidental lo hacen hacia el Ro Magdalena.En la
sierra se puede ver diversa fauna tropicales: tigres, pumas,
tigrillos "", tapires, venados, osos, monos como "Choyo",
"araguato" o "braceadora". Entre las aves que establecen sus
dominios son el cndor andino, el paujil copete de piedra, el
gatillo de roca, y varias especies de patos.
