Shanta Durga Temple

This is the most famous temple of Goa and holds a special place in the heart of every Goan Hindu

Local legends tell of a battle between Shiva and Vishnu - The battle was so fierce that Brahma prayed

to Parvati to intervene, she did this by assuming the form of Shantadurga. Goddess Shantadurga

cake with each layer baked individually, made of beaten egg and coconut milk. Dodol is a preparation

made of coconut jaggery.

The best bit about this place, plastic chairs and all, is that the locals eat here. For more than 30 years,

Mr. Florence da Costa's local food and beer dive has been pulling in a crowd. Its so well priced
