General Information ORGANISED SHORE EXCURSIONSBooking Direct with Silversea gives you peace of mind. Our local tour operators are fully insured and have been comprehensively vetted. Inthe unlikely event of issues with a Silversea tour, we assume responsibility and the ship will wait for our delayed shore excursion. These areimportant factors when comparing value. Looking for a special program with your travelling companions? In a nod to our Italian heritage,let us reserve for you our Silver Shore “Privato” service - a private vehicle with driver and/or guide. Create your own itinerary or leave it tous. This service is available in most ports which you can reserve on MySilversea (my.silversea.com) or at the Shore Concierge desk onboardfor a truly tailor-made arrangement. Please bear in mind as we traverse many far reaching destinations, the local infrastructure varies and isbeyond our control. Road conditions and vehicles available locally may not be up to standards we are accustomed to. Guides and driversmay speak with a heavy accent at times depending on the port of call. Be assured however that at Silversea, we contract only the best toursand best operators available at each destination. Please Note: Silversea reserves the right to make any changes or modify a tour in case ofunforeseen circumstances and/or to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. BOOKING & CANCELLATION DEADLINESShore excursions must be purchased on or before the booking deadline for each port of call. Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis; some tours are very popular with guests often ending up being wait-listed: in order to avoid disappointment, it is thereforesuggested to book in advance via my.silversea.com from 120 - 7 days prior to sailing. Last-minute requests to participate on excursions aresubject to space availability, which in some cases may not be determined until departure time pier-side. Please note that certain shoreexcursions may have different reservation deadlines and may incur cancellation fees if cancelled after the deadline. Unless otherwiseindicated in the tour description for a particular shore excursion a 100% cancellation fee will be charged for shore excursions cancelledwithin 48 hours of the scheduled start time. If changes or cancellations are required once onboard, tickets must be returned to the ShoreConcierge desk within the cancellation deadline period. ONLINE ADVANCE RESERVATION OF SHORE EXCURSIONSFor those of you that are not aware, at Silversea you can pre-reserve your excursions at leisure prior to your journey on the internet, log onto MySilversea (my.silversea.com) up to 7 days prior to your sailing date. If you have pre-reserved your excursions on line, your tickets willbe delivered to your suite upon embarkation and all charges will be billed to your shipboard account. ON BOARD RESERVATIONSOnce on board, you may also reserve and purchase your shore excursions. You will find a consolidated tour booking form in your suite andat the Shore Concierge desk. Select the tours in which you wish to participate, then leave the completed and signed form at the ShoreConcierge desk prior to the booking deadline indicated. Tour tickets will be delivered to your suite and your selected excursions chargedto your shipboard account. Overland and exclusive excursions must be pre-paid by credit card through your reservation agents. If stillavailable they may also be purchased on board. Shore excursions require a minimum number of participants in order to operate asdescribed. If this minimum number is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate or to cancel thespecific departure.  SHORE EXCURSION PRICINGPrices are generally quoted per person, per tour, with the exception of Silver Shore Privato or group-designated excursions. Our aim is to give you a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary and many of yourquestions about our ports of call will be answered in these briefings, giving you more time to enjoy and immerse yourself in each port. Theinformation is presented in the theater or is pre-recorded and played on your in-suite entertainment system. SILVERSEA SHUTTLE SERVICEComplimentary transportation may be provided by Silversea when the local town is beyond a reasonable walking distance from the port.This service may not be possible in ports where a strong taxi union exists, preventing Silversea from providing a complimentary shuttle. Theavailability and schedule for this service will be announced onboard and listed in the Silversea Chronicle. We are not able to advise this inadvance. Operationally, intervals between shuttle bus departures could be affected by local traffic. Silversea is not liable for any unforeseendelays. There will be a break in service for driver meal times. Shuttle service is offered during the day only. The shuttle service is designedto augment local transportation; guests requiring more flexibility may prefer not to wait for a shuttle and secure a taxi at their own expense. CHILDREN ON TOURTo ensure the safety of our younger guests, participation by children in certain shore excursions may be restricted. To ensure the safety ofour younger guests, children up to the age of 8 years old are only permitted to participate in suitable Silver Shore Excursions and theshuttle service, if the vehicles are equipped with the correct safety harness and seating equipment, to accommodate a child. Suchharnesses' and secure seating cannot be guaranteed. Alternately guests may use their own approved safety seat, booster seat or harnessas long as they are compatible with the local touring vehicle and can properly secure the young guest. In the interest of all tour participants, guests should adhere to the allotted time and return to the tour vehiclepromptly as advised by the tour guide or ship’s escort. Please Note: The selection of shops is generally left to the discretion of the touroperator. Silversea does require that establishments be reputable, of general interest to our guests and offer quality goods. Pass through the fertile Devon countryside, and by rolling farmland and wooded hillsides.See trees, hedgerows and flora at the entrance to small farming and agricultural communities, which are home to clusters of centuries-old housesand buildings. Devon's most famous export, clotted cream, is one of the delicious products of the rich pastures that stretch in broad sweepsthroughout the area. Dartmoor National ParkContinue on to Dartmoor National Park. Steeped in legend and myth, your guide will recount of some of the age-old stories of this vastwilderness. Pass the Victorian prison at Princetown as you head into the heart of Dartmoor. Pause for photographs at scenic points along theway. Free Time in Buckfast AbbeyNext, re-board your coach for the journey to Buckfast Abbey, originally founded in Saxon times. Here, some free time is made available tobrowse the well-stocked gift shop, stroll around the complex, take in excellent views of the Abbey, or just relax and take in the serenity ofBuckfast. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.  Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate toget on/off the coach.  DTM-B / SLAPTON SANDS AND ENGLISH CREAM TEA DIFFICULTY

 Experience the traditions and World War II history of Dartmouth during this scenic and informative, half-day sightseeing excursion.Torcross, Sherman Tank, Ken Small Memorial Speech, War MemorialDepart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to Torcross. Upon arrival, see a Sherman tank and listen to Dean Small, son of thelate Ken Small, explain the significance of this remote stretch of beach and recount the story of how his father recovered the Sherman tank. Inaddition, visit a war memorial given by the United States in 1954 to the 3,000 local inhabitants in gratitude for them evacuating their homes andland to provide a battle practice area for the successful assault in Normandy in June 1944. Their action resulted in the saving of many hundredsof lives, and contributed in no small measure to the success of the D-Day operation. Slapton Sands, War MemorialNext, re-board your coach and drive to Slapton Sands. Here, American forces conducted exercises in the Slapton Sands area to train units andstaff in embarkation, landing on hostile shores, and seizing and holding a beachhead to cover the landing of follow-up forces. Slapton Sands waschosen because it resembled the Normandy beaches of Utah, where landings would take place on D-Day. It was here in 1944 that Allied forcesheld a secret dress rehearsal for D-Day. Unfortunately, speedy German E-boats interrupted the exercise, and hundreds of U.S. soldiers died.During your guided visit, tour the beach and its war memorial. Blackawton or Kingsbridge, English Cream TeaLeaving Slapton Sands, re-board your coach and continue on to Blackawton or Kingsbridge.  Embrace the stunning natural splendour of the English Riviera and countryside during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion.Scenic River Dart River-Boat RideFollowing a breif guided stroll of this historic naval town, depart the pier via river-boat for the leisurely, approximately 1.5-hour cruise up theRiver Dart. Along the way, pass through deep countryside surrounded by green hills. The light-green fields and patches of red plough-land standout in striking contrast to the dark tones of the trees that line the banks for much of the way. Marvel at the rich, diverse bird, mammal and plantlife, as well as the literary and historical connections, as you slowly cruise along this scenic river. Totnes, Paignton, Steam Train-Ride, Seascapes, and Rocky CliffsTotnes is an ancient market town and river port situated at the heart of the beautiful Dart Valley. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief walking tour ofcharming Totnes before boarding a coach for the drive to Paignton, another crown jewel of the English Riviera. Depart Heimaey Harbour via boat and set sail for your circumnavigation of Heimaey. Proceed past the cliffs surrounding the harbour, which haslong been a shelter for the Icelandic fishing fleet but was nearly lost due to a volcanic eruption on the island in 1973. Along the way, pass by bird colonies with millions of inhabitants and explore caves that can only be visited by boat. The Westman Islands arehome to one of the largest varieties of seabird species in Iceland, including puffin colonies that are home to an estimated six-to-eight-millionpuffins. Please note that all puffins leave the island around mid-August, so no puffins will be seen on the tour. The islands also include one of theworld's largest gannet and guillemot colonies, along with numerous other species of nesting seabirds. In addition to the bird life, orcas, dolphins and porpoises are often sighted. After viewing the island and bird cliffs from every angle, sail into thecliff-cave of Klettshellir, where a musical instrument is played on board the boat. Your tour continues along the western part of the island to view the outer islands. The youngest island, Surtsey,evolved from a volcanic eruption in 1963. The show is aimed at being both educational andentertaining at the same time.
