Criss-crossing the collection
In 2015, it will be exactly 125 years since the
death of Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890). This
fact will be marked in 2015 with a year of
exhibitions and activities at various locations in
the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. The theme
is 125 years of inspiration. In the Van Gogh Year
2015, the Kröller-Müller Museum presents the
exhibition Van Gogh & Co. Criss-crossing the
collection. Still lifes, nature motifs, cityscapes and
human figure by Vincent van Gogh are compared
to works by his contemporaries in the same
genres. More than fifty paintings and drawings by
Van Gogh will be shown, along with many works
by other artists, such as François Bonvin, Floris
Verster, Odilon Redon, Henri Fantin-Latour, Paul
Gabriël, Paul Cézanne, Adolphe Monticelli and
Claude Monet.
Jachthuis Sint Hubertus
The museum is a paradise for both experienced
art connoisseurs and open-minded newcomers.
The museum has the second-largest Van Gogh
collection in the world! In addition, the collection
boasts masterpieces by modern artists such
as Monet, Seurat, Picasso, and Mondrian.
The outside hall of the museum has more than
160 sculptures by prominent masters such as
Rodin, Moore, and Dubuffet. The Kröller-Müller
Museum is the life work of Helene Kröller-Müller.
Between 1907 and 1922, she and her husband
Anton Kröller collected nearly 11,500 art works,
including 90 paintings and 180 drawings by
Vincent van Gogh. The combination of the charm
of nature and the works of world-famous artists
turn every visit into an unforgettable experience!
An exceptional combinationIn the middle of the National Park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’ - 5,400 hectares of heather, woods, fen, and
shifting sand - nestles the Kröller-Müller Museum. Here, the finest elements in the field of culture and
nature come together. A visit to this exceptional combination is without doubt a unique experience!
Kröller-Müller, pearl of the Veluwe
Discover the park on a free ‘White Bike’After a visit to the museum, a ride through the park on one
of the 1,800 free White Bikes is a perfect way to complete
your day! You can discover the various landscapes and the
protected animal species in a relaxed and simple way. The
White Bikes can be used free-of-charge whenever they are
available. There are also blue bikes; these can be reserved in
advance (for €3.50 / €5.00 each per person). Ask about the
various other possibilities for transport in the park (electric bike
and wheelchair).
Highly recommended during a tour of the park is a visit to
the Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, the former country lodge of
Helene Kröller-Müller and her husband. This stately building
(gesamtkunstwerk) by the architect Berlage was completely
renovated in 2013 and can be viewed by appointment.
