Itinerary Day 01 : Lima / Cusco- City Tour 2014 Arrival to Cusco, reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Visitors should take a short rest in order to adjust to the altitude. 14:00 CITY TOUR & NEARBY RUINS CUSCO In the afternoon we will tour the city of Cusco, which is full of Inca architecture designed for religious, administrative, military and domestic use. Cusco's colonial Spanish monuments are among the wealthiest and most luxurious in the Andes. This afternoon we will visit some of them and we will see Koricancha, which was the most important Inca temple as it was dedicated to worship of the sun. The Spanish built a church and Dominican monastery over the temple and we can see both cultures existing together.

The Urubamba Valley is also known as “El Valle Sagrado de los Incas”, or the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is a laid back valley near Cusco with a very pleasant climate perfectly suited for farming. Ancient ruins, gentle mountain slopes and scattered farming towns define the valley. The same properties that make the valley attractive for today’s tourist were also the reason why the Inca chose this valley for their permanent settlements.

Return to Cusco, by the way of Chincheros, lies on the foundations of an important Inca site built in late 1400s Brightly dressed, the people of Chinchero gather in the main plaza to barter foodstuffs and offer visitors an array of crafts from the Cusco region against a scenery of breathtaking beauty.
