Welcome to the 2017 UFO Festival, celebrating 70 years since the famous crash of 1947! MainStreet Roswell, a non-profit group dedicated to build upon Roswell’s historical past by creating a sustainable, cooperative, dynamic downtown district is happy to organize this event. It is also important to note that June 30, 1967 is the year that Walker Air Force Base closed its gates. 2017 commemorates 50 years since the infamous base that housed the Roswell aliens closed. This year’s event features musical entertainment, food, family activities, giant water slides, and so much more. Stay through July 4 for the Roswell Sertoma Mike Satterfield Memorial Fireworks Show featuring a free concert from Los Lonely Boys! This schedule covers events and activities from all over Roswell June 29-July 2. Should you need transportation to events, the City offers public bus service through Pecos Trails Transit. Please also remember to stop by the information booth at the Chaves County Courthouse lawn to pick up your official Roswell UFO Passport. Only a limited number are available, so please get yours early. Cool off on our giant water slides. All day passes are only $20 (or one individual slide is $5). Purchase your passes at the Information Tent. Location: The UFO Festival Laser Shows are held in the Robert H. Goddard Planetarium located on the north side of the Roswell Museum and Art Center at 100 West 11th Street. You may enter and exit through the Museum to access the Planetarium until the Museum closes at 5 p.m.. The Planetarium will be open during the festival from 11 am through the last laser show each day.

Tickets: Tickets may be purchased in advance through the Museum Store located inside the Museum from June 19-28. Beginning Thursday, June 29, tickets will be sold directly in the Planetarium, in-person only, throughout the Festival from 11 am-7p.m. Thursday and Sunday and 11am - 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Please note, the planetarium seats 120 people.The shows are extremely popular and often sell out, particularly in the evenings. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance to ensure your first choice of shows.

When to arrive: Doors open 30 minutes before each show for general seating and patrons often start lining up as early as 60 minutes in advance to have their first choice of seats. Please note: We are not able to admit patrons after the shows have begun. Tickets for no-shows or late arrivals are nonrefundable. You must have a ticket to be admitted.

Parking: Parking is available in the lots south and southwest of the Museum and on the street outside the planetarium (standard parking regulations apply). Please be respectful of nearby businesses and organizations when parking.

Show Length: The show are approximately 45 minutes each.

Don Burleson is a professional mathematician and widely published writer. He serves as the New Mexico State Director for MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, and has worked on many classic UFO cases, including Roswell, Socorro, Levelland, and the Lubbock Lights, as well as mathematical consulting for the late Lloyd Pye’s Starchild Skull DNA recovery project. He is the author of twenty-four books, including UFOs and the Murder of Marilyn Monroe, UFO Secrecy and the Fall

Thomas Carey a native Philadelphian, holds degrees from Temple University (B.S. in Business Administration) and California State University, Sacramento (M.A. in Anthropology), and also attended the University of Toronto’s Ph.D. Programme in Anthropology. An Air Force veteran who held a TOP SECRET/CRYPTO clearance, Tom is now a retired Philadelphia area businessman. He has been a Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State Section Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania from 1986 to 2001, a Special Investigator for the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) from 1991 to 2001, and a member of the CUFOS board of directors from 1997 to 2001. Tom began investigating aspects of the Roswell Incident in 1991 for the Roswell investigative team of Kevin Randle and Don Schmitt, and since 1998 has teamed exclusively with Don Schmitt to continue a proactive investigation of the case. Tom has authored or coauthored more than 40 published articles about the Roswell events of 1947, and has contributed to a number of books on the subject as well. He has appeared as a guest

of J. Robert Oppenheimer, and the novella The Roswell Genes. He is on the editorial board of the journal The American Rationalist and has been writing his UFO-related newspaper column Looking Up (in the Roswell Daily Record’s Vision Magazine) since 1999. Dr. Burleson and his wife Mollie have lived in Roswell, New Mexico since 1996.

James Clarkson is an investigator who has stood in two worlds for many years – a career professional investigator in the criminal justice field and as a lifelong researcher of the UFO Mystery. He has been a plainclothes military police investigator, a 20-year career city police officer and fraud investigator who has had many titles: patrol supervisor, detective sergeant, fatal accident team manager and training officer. After retiring with 20 years’ service, he became a child abuse detective and then he completed another decade of service as a fraud investigator for a Washington state agency. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist by such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse Astronuclear Laboratory, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell-Douglas Astronautics working in such highly advanced, classified, eventually cancelled programs as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and various compact nuclear power-plants for space and terrestrial applications. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society, The American Physical Society, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He became interested in UFOs in 1958, and since 1967 has lectured about them at more than 600 colleges and 100 professional groups in all 50 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces and 19 other countries in addition to various nuclear consulting efforts. He has only had 11 hecklers of which 2 were drunk. He has published more than 100 UFO papers and has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs including on Larry King in 1997, 2007 and twice in 2008, and many documentaries. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and co-authored “Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident”. TOP SECRET/MAJIC his controversial book about the Majestic 12 group, established in 1947 to deal with alien technology, was published in 1996 and went through 6 printings. Larry Holcombe’s introduction into the world of Ufology came in the late 1950’s after reading two of Major Donald Keyhoe’s books; Flying Saucers are Real and Flying Saucers from Outer Space. A year later, after watching Keyhoe debate an Air Force officer on the old Armstrong Circle Theater, and seeing Keyhoe being censored when he deviated from the prepared script the Air Force forced on the show’s producers, Larry was convinced the Air Force was covering up knowledge of UFO’s. Those events started a fifty plus year avocation into the study and research of the UFO phenomenon. In 2006 he took early retirement and started his first novel, The Great River Disclosure, a thriller based on the government cover-up of an extraterrestrial presence visiting earth. His second novel in the Disclosure Trilogy, Satan’s Angel, was released this past fall in eBook format. In researching background for the novels he became intrigued by a 1970’s NBC-TV documentary, UFOS: Past, Present & Future. The documentary endorsed the theory that some UFO’s were extraterrestrial and astonishingly the documentary seemed to have the support of the government. Larry was able to locate the writer/co-producer of the documentary, Bob Emenegger, and Emenegger provided him with some remarkable background information

Frank Kimbler is an Assistant Professor of the Earth Science at the New Mexico Military Institute and a xenoarchaeoloists. He has worked as a professional geologist for almost 30 years, and has taught for almost half of that time. He has worked as an oceanographer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and as a mining engineer for the State of Arizona. He moved to New Mexico in 2009 after accepting a teaching position at NMMI in Roswell. Shortly after moving to Roswell he took a keen interest in the story behind the Roswell UFO incident. His research has resulted in the discovery of a number of physical

In addition to St. Martin’s Press, the audio book rights were purchased by Audible, Italian and Japanese publishers purchased foreign rights, and Sony Pictures has optioned the film rights to the book. As of this date Larry has done 32 radio interviews including Coast-to-Coast AM, Fox News Radio, and Fade to Black with Jimmy Church. He has lectured in six states and his upcoming lecturers at The International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell at this years 70th anniversary festival will be titled The Roswell Incident: New Voices and Unknown Stories. He has lectured at the festival since 2011.

Thom Reed is an award winning South Beach fashion photographer, and the founder of Miami Models, w/clients: Polo Black Label, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. The historic UFO case of the Reed Family, was assigned a Vallee classification of “CE4” (close encounter of the 4th kind), with a Case Category of 3 (physical evidence). The case has many layers and is deeply entwined and remains one of a few CE4 cases to be mentioned within the walls of the United Nations. The history involves Marian Burrows, grandmother, Nancy Reed, mother, and the two brothers, Thom and Matthew. Nancy, Marian, Thom and Matthew, were driving home following a horse show, at about 8:00 at night, when they observed what Marian referred to as a bright “floating strip mall” above the left side of the station wagon. Ron Regehr has been a UFO researcher for more than 50 years. Regehr is a retired aerospace engineer with 36 years experience at Douglas Aircraft and Aerojet ElectroSystems working in space and Earth surveillance systems. He is MUFON’s Director of Documentation and a MUFON research specialist in space satellite technology. Two of his major areas of contribution in UFO research are satellite detection of UFOs and analysis of photos and other data associated with the Roswell case. Regehr first became interested in the UFO phenomena in the mid-1950s as a young volunteer for the Ground Observer Corps. Through the years he continued reading everything available on UFOs, and in

Peter Robbins is an investigative writer, author and lecturer best known for his books, columns, articles, radio commentaries, interviews and conference talks He has appeared as a guest on and been consultant to numerous television programs and documentaries. Peter was born in Queens New York and studied art, design and theater at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He received his BFA (painting, film history) from New York City’s School of Visual Arts (SVA) where he also taught painting for a dozen years. He was a member of the art faculties of St. Anns School in Brooklyn Heights, and an Oklahoma Council on the Arts summer program. Following his graduation from SVA, Peter worked as a deckhand on a Norwegian freighter, then traveled the world for a year. He was studio assistant to Abstract Expressionist painter Adolph Gotlieb, studio assistant to American primitive painter William Cply (correct spelling), and general assistant to pioneer kinetic light sculptor Stanley Landsman. He has also worked as a carpenter, art gallery assistant,

Officer White, a detective, with over 30 years law enforcement experience, worked the case, and reported it as “authentic encounters with an unknown powerful force”. Robert Bigelow, the founder of Bigelow Aerospace, had recently financed an organization and teams to investigate CE3 and CE4 cases, such as the Reed case. Additional

organizations also researched the Reed case, such as the Star Team and smaller third party groups. All investigating personnel came to the same conclusion, and validated the radiation, magnetic anomalies, medical records, statements and testimony. In 2010, Thom passed his Polygraph test on his family’s UFO encounters which covered a broad spectrum of events dating back to 1966, with a score of over 99%, at the Department of Defense, Polygraph Institute, at Advanced Polygraph, which was administered by a 30 year veteran police officer.

Don Schmitt is the former co-director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies in Chicago where he served as Director of Special Investigations for 10 years. Prior to that time, he was a special investigator for the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek and the art director for the International UFO Reporter. Schmitt graduated from MATC with a degree in Commercial Art and graduated cum laude from Concordia University with a degree in Liberal Arts. He is currently taking graduate courses in Criminal Justice. He and Tom Carey, his partner of 18 years, have already outlined their next writing collaboration – on the Roswell Incident of 1947. He is author of hundreds of articles about UFOs as well as the co-author of five best-selling books UFO Crash at Roswell, The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell, Witness To Roswell, Witness to Roswell: Revised Addition, and Inside the Real Area 51; The Secret History of Wright Patterson. He is also the author of Roswell, The Chronological Pictorial. Schmitt has led and organized the four official archaeological dig projects at the actual Roswell crash/debris field conducted in 1989, 2002, 2006, and 2013. The second effort became the central theme of the highest rated show up to that time in the history of the Sci Fi Channel The Roswell Crash: Startling New Evidence. Derrel Sims, R.H.A., CMHt., “the Alien Hunter,” has been at the forefront of alien investigation for more than 35 years. From ages 4 to 17, he experienced numerous conscious contacts with a malignant alien presence. Determined to transform his life role from the “hunted” to the “hunter,” he prepared himself mentally, physically, and spiritually to become a warrior for the cause of the alien abductee. At the heart of Sims’ work is a proactive search for physical evidence and its forensic analysis. A private investigator and former MP, he treats abduction cases like crime scenes. Presently, He and Stanton Friedman serve as advisors to the International UFO Museum and Research Center Board of Directors. He and Stanton will also be portrayed in the motion picture Majic Men produced by Stellar Productions. Don is also an associate producer of the 2015 feature docu-drama film 701, which is being scripted by Peabody Award winning writer Tracy Torme. Don and his wife Marie live on a ranch in Holy Hill, Wisconsin.

Travis Walton is the subject of the Paramount Studios movie, Fire in the Sky, based on his book of the same name. On November 5, 1975 a group of loggers in the mountains of northeastern Arizona observed a strange, unusually bright light in the sky. One of the men, Travis Walton, recklessly left the safety of their truck to take a closer look. Suddenly as he walked toward the light, Walton was blasted back by a bolt of mysterious energy.
