1 SATURDAY ARRIVAL – ARENAL VOLCANO & HOTSPRINGS

Airport pick up and immediate drive towards the Northern area of Costa Rica towards the Arenal Volcano area. Stop for a typical lunch on our way. Total driving time is around 2:30 hours. Check in and afternoon for enjoying the Ecotermales hotsprings and optional services at the spa. Your hotel offers volcano view rooms, 14 swimming pools, 13 of them with thermo-mineral water, Jacuzzi, 2 saunas, small gym with basic equipment, two restaurants, 12 platforms, 11 cables Canopy Tour, nature walking paths. Welcome dinner tonight!

SUNDAY ARENAL VOLCANO – MONTEVERDE – FROG POND

Free morning at the resort and afternoon departure for a 30 minute cruise across Arenal Lake. At the Rio Chiquito dock, a mini bus will be waiting for us for a 1.5 hour ride drive up to Monteverde. On the Hotel property, you will find lush forests and verdant pastures that are excellent for birding and hiking - parrots and toucans come to feed in the wild fruit trees.  Visit to the Monteverde Frog Pond, run by a team of biologists and conservationists, much more than a zoo of amphibians, dedicating part of the proceeds from each ticket purchased to research and conservation efforts.

2MONDAY ARENAL – MONTEVERDE PRIVATE RESERVE

Morning visit to the private reserve of Monteverde, the most famous cloud forest of the world, majestically tall trees covered with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines, and mosses, giant tree ferns, bamboos and moss covered liana vines dangle from the canopy. Spectacular wildlife includes Baird’s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Barenecked Umbrellabird and Resplendent Quetzal. Optional activities include: Bat Jungle, Art Galleries, Coffee Tour, Cheese Factory, Orchid Garden, Butterfly Garden, Snake Farm and World of Insects. For dinner, the best pizza in town!

THURSDAY TAMARINDO - ADVENTURE DAY AT RINCON DE LA VIEJA VOLCANO A full day of lots of adventure in a wonderful location, the slopes of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park, with wonderful views of the Guanacaste lowlands. Four activities: Canopy tour, tubing, thermal waters and mud and horse back riding. The canopy tour is first, one of the best in Costa Rica. After the canopy we will enjoy a typical lunch at the ranch, followed by tubing down one of the rivers for one hour and thirty minutes. Horse back ride is through the tropical dry forest where you can see different kinds of trees, birds, monkeys and toucans. We will hike up to the waterfall where you can go swimming. Then, after enjoying a cool fun bath, horse back ride over to the relaxing hot springs and mud bath. Transportation back to our beach resort.

No activities are planned for this day, free for optional tours, or just resting at the beach.
