“Welcome to another Totnes Festival, now in its 7th year. I think you willagree that this years programme contains a wide range of activities andincludes, for the first time, a street market and funfair. Once again, theschedule of events reflects the rich culture and diversity of talent in andaround the town. The committee are grateful to the individuals, groups andbusinesses who have invested in this year’s events so that it will be avibrant experience for all who come along to enjoy the talent on offer.

Special thanks go to Sue and Walter King whose generous sponsorship hasenabled us to produce and distribute this ‘new look’ programme.Be part of the experience, it’s your festival, so make sure that you join inand enjoy it.”

Judy Westacott MBE, Festival Chairman

The Totnes Festival committee would like to thank and acknowledge the sponsorship of the Totnes and District Strategy Group.

This year, you can expect festival radio broadcasts on Soundart, including special features and coverage of Totnes Festival events.

Our vision is for the Festival to focus on the uniqueness of Totnes including the local, regional and beyond. Our core values are to be supporting and to empower

Totnes’s creative communities:

“We welcome contributions from everybody.”

Totnes Festival’s mission is to be an umbrella for varied events, performance and sharing - and this year we have co-ordinated a fortnight of events, organized by the community in different Totnes venues. Please see our Events Diary from pages 14 - 24 for full listings of activities in date order. On page 25 you will find the Venue Directory, listing all the venues, addresses and contact details.

Becoming a volunteer...We are already thinking about Totnes Festival 2013!

Would you like to get involved in Totnes Festival next year? We have aspirations to develop and improve the festival, year upon year. It is our mission to provide a platform, every summer, for our community to share a wide variety of special events and performances and we welcome contributions from everybody!

Volunteering could be a perfect opportunity to build your skills (and to share a few with others). Perhaps you would like to write press releases, draw maps, design posters, manage emails, practice minute taking, publish updates on social media sites, plan an event, distribute programmes, encourage people to submit an event or to support the general operations of the committee - we would welcome and appreciate your input.

If you would like to bring your passion for our community, its culture and the arts to the Totnes Festival, please register your interest by emailing:

[email protected] T h a n k s !

We have e-mailing lists for volunteers, event organisers and traders.

Interested in sponsoring Totnes Festival 2013?I

If you, as an individual or a business, would like to know more about becoming a sponsor for Totnes Festival next year, please do get in touch with us by emailing
