SAS International metal ceiling systems were
designed, supplied and installed for the tallest
building in Spain, Torre Caja Madrid.
A range of bespoke metal ceiling solutions
were specified throughout the building; in the
reception, auditorium, offices, corridors and
lift lobbies.
Significant acoustic demands in the
auditorium were met by using non-perforated
aluminium panels with an acoustic pad on
the reverse to prevent the sound generated
in the plant room above being transferred to
the auditorium space. The ceiling was also
designed to allow sound generated within the
auditorium to be absorbed to ensure sound
reflection was limited.
SAS System 330 metal ceiling system was
used in the open plan office areas. The
prestigious top floor incorporated a large
skylight centrally located within the open plan
area. Installed by SAS Project Management,
the internal skylight cladding had to be
integrated into the design of the office
ceilings, maintaining the alignment of the
C-profiles.
The metal ceilings combine performance with
aesthetics for a functional yet stylish finish for
this modern office development.
