TORRANCE HERALD MAIL CHRISTMAS GIFTS 1 EARLY, POSTMEN ASK Postmaster C. Earl Conner today asked local residents to plan their Christmas shopping sehedules now to permit eatly mailing of Christmas cards and gift packages, thus avoiding last-minute crowds at postofflce windows. To assure delivery before Christmas day, the postmaster ad vised that out-of-state mailings")- should bo made before Dec. 10. Christmas greetings cards for local delivery -should be mailed by Dec. -5, he said. "On Chnslmas eve it is a great satisfaction to be certain that your Christmas cards and packages have been delivered because they were mailed early," he pointed out. "Wlhen you post- pone mailing to the last minute, you risk disappointing your friends by having your mes- sages and gifts caught in the rush and perhaps not delivered until after Christmas." ' He advised combining early mailing with use of "Do Not Open Befoie Christmas" notes or stickers on packages and en- velopes.
