Canadian Newcomer Settlement Guide to Ontario 2011 1 Settlement services listed in this directory may include translation and/or interpretation, orientation, housing and/or legal information or health services and/or information. Many organizations listed in the directory can provide newcomers with referrals to economic, social, health, cultural, educational and recreational services; tips on banking, shopping, managing a household and other everyday tasks; interpreters or translators; non-therapeutic counseling, and many more. All the organizations provide services in English; we include a list of other languages when available. The directory also includes specialized services for seniors, youth and women. Citizenship and Immigration Canada provides help to newcomers through the Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program (ISAP). The government of Ontario offers aid to immigrants with the Newcomer Settlement Program (NSP). Because any organization can have several locations, please be advised that some services in our directory may not be available at all locations.
