The Hornets defeated the host Chiefs 3-1 in the final after posting 2-1 wins over the Burlington Barracudas and Mississauga, as well as a 0-0 tie with the Aurora Panthers, in the prelimi- nary round. Hornets players Jules Collarile, Becca Lamme, Hannah Schelf- haut and Rene Urwin have helped Oakville win the tournament each of the past three years, and Michael Shelfhaut has coached the squad each time. Other members of this year’s Hornets team are Rachel Zeliznak, Annie-Rose John- son, Natalie Schneider, Alyssa Haylock, Kelly Hubbs, Sheila Murray, Marta Anielska, Kayla Corry, Danielle Alonso, Athena Sou- tos, Lauren Lebre, Bri Davis, Joelle Mason, Hannah Reidy, Giulia McGuire and Madison Seaver. Gary Schneider, Brian Davis and Al Urwin also coach the Hornets, Chris Reidy and Andrea Seaver are the trainers, and Paul Corry is the manager. Atom DS Two Oakville Hornets atom DS (develop- ment stream) teams won medals at the Mis- sissauga tournament. The White Wolves and Black Panthers combined to outscore their opposition 53-1 to go undefeated in round-robin play. The White Wolves went on to win the atom DS championship, defeating the Mis- sissauga Chiefs 2-0 in the final, while the Black Panthers took the bronze with a 3-2 victory over the Whitby Wolves in the third-place game. Helping the White Wolves win gold were players Madelyn Wil- liams, Julia Lupton, Julianna Stewart, Felic- ity Moziar, Kate Swatuk, Chloe Van Belle, Tiana Girard, Sarah Healey, Jenna Van Dinter, Cassie Crawford, Amber Bielik, Olivia Car- son, Charlytte Board, Zoe Leonard, Mack- enzie Pearce, Tara Courneyea, Robin Leon- ard, Charlie Craig, Zoe Jessome and Sydney Pearce. The team is coached by Kevin Board, Jason Stewart and Paul Lupton. The Blizzards finished second in the Shootout Classic rep tournament in Buf- falo — a significant achievement for a house league team — and then went un- defeated at the Al Boone Memorial tour- nament in Niagara Falls.
