PROGRAMME OVERVIEW PROGRAMME STRUCTUREThis is a full-time programme with an expected study duration of four terms in two years.

The programme structure is as follows:

This two-year programme is offered by the OUHK in collaboration with SHAPE of VTC. Since the first intake in 2005, more than 1,800 students have enrolled in this programme. Students can enjoy campus facilities of both the OUHK and SHAPE, including computer laboratories, libraries and sports facilities.

This programme is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of accounting for students who wish to pursue their careers in accounting and business.

Graduates of the programme may claim exemptions for up to a maximum of nine papers (out of 14) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations. They may claim exemptions of all eight foundation examinations of CPA Australia.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEWThe term ‘Finance’ covers a broad spectrum of functions. During this programme students will learn about the major elements of financial services, examine current markets and trends and learn skills of analysis. There is a particular focus on the issues of risk and investment management. Essentially this programme will equip you with a sound, practical knowledge in areas like financial markets, investment, banking and business finance.

The UK has one of the most developed and respected financial services sectors in the world and is a major employer and contributor to the UK economy. Against this background, the BA (Hons) Finance and Investment Management programme offers graduates a wide range of interesting career paths. ASSESSMENTAssessment takes the form of case studies, individual assignments, group presentations, portfolios and/or reports. All students are required to complete an individual professional project.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCYREQUIREMENTSAll students who have completed a Hong Kong Higher Diploma or Associate Degree, of two years, in English will be exempted from completing an English Language test. All other students who are non-UK or non-HK residents without a Higher Diploma will be required to have TOEFL (computer based) 232 or TOEFL (internet based) 89 or IELTS of 6.5 or Pearson 62.

The FASP, which is administered by Student Finance Office (SFO) under the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA), provides means-tested financial assistance to needy full-time students pursuing locally-accredited, self-financing post-secondary education programmes at the level of associate degree, higher diploma or degree. SHAPE students pursuing the designated full-time locally-accredited degree programmes at SHAPE are eligible for assistance under the scheme. Financial assistance is provided in the form of grant and/or loan. The grant is to cover tuition fees and academic expenses. The loan is for living expenses. The NLS is administered by Student Finance Office (SFO) under the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA).
