In July, the number of changes was the same as last year. Hirings in August were moved to September, so in August hiring fell to one-third of previous months. Which industries were most active? During the summer, most senior changes happened in Banking, mainly IT roles. The second most active field in terms of senior management changes was Automotive, where in 44% of cases, expats were placed. We can hypothetically learn from the previous crisis of 2008, when a study conducted on the 2500 largest companies showed that the expected massive exchange of CEOs and top leaders took place mainly in crisis-affected industries, then especially in the financial sector. Which roles were most hired in the summer? The most active exchanges in senior management were in Financial roles. 75% of all financial directors were hired externally, outside the field of business of the previous employer, which is a unique trend. The reason is that companies expect a more economic - business approach for analyzing not only costs but especially for the development of new activities, with more online and digital tools to ensure greater efficiency than before. More Expats The general trend of decreasing the number of expats persists, but the increase compared to the first half was by more than 10 %. The first reason is the exchange of expats in the summer and September, as a general trend for moving their children to school. From a business perspective, a more important trend will be to move expats as "internal promotions" instead of local hiring.
