Many people will ask “What is a mentor and why do I need one”?
A strong mentoring relationship is the commitment to the professional
development of one or both of its participants. A typical mentoring
relationship is where one participant has more experience, skill, knowledge
than the other, however many strong mentoring relationships provide an
opportunity for both parties to learn from each other.
Look at it like this – A mentor is like “Yoda to your Luke Skywalker”
There are so many benefits of using mentoring in your property business,
including the following:
1. Gaining from your mentor's expertise and their own experiences.
2. Receiving critical feedback in key areas, such as communications, negotiations,
planning, time management, goal setting and systemization.
3. Developing a sharper focus on what you need to do professionally to succeed in
the property world.
4. Learning specific skills and knowledge that are relevant to your business and
personal goals.

6. Gaining knowledge about your criteria, area and doing due diligence right.
7. Having a friendly ear with which to share frustrations as well as successes.

So what do Mentors do?
A mentor can help you assess your strengths and weaknesses, A mentor
can provide a fresh perspective, a new way of looking at a problem or issue
that you may have. You can bounce ideas off your mentor. A mentor will
help facilitate your decision-making process by suggesting alternatives.
Ideally, your mentor will motivate you to do your best.

Willing to share their wisdom, knowledge, skills and expertise.
Always looking at the positive outlook on life.
There to help you through tough times and show you how to find the opportunity
in the difficulties that you may face.
Genuinely concerned about you and your success. In addition to be knowledgeable,
they are empathic.

Giving direct, constructive feedback to their client.
Respected by their colleagues. People who are highly regarded in their field make
the best mentors.
Sought out and valued the opinions of others.
As the old saying goes, a mentor is someone whose hindsight can become your
foresight.
So what separates a mentor from the average network contact is long-term
commitment and a deep-seated investment in your future. They only want
the best for you!

N – Never gives up on you, or lets you give up on yourself.
