Krásna Hôrka

Join us on our journey and get to know our history through the medieval castle of the House of Andrássy.oKrásna Hôrka Is castle from 14. century that is situatted Krásnohorské Podhradie near to Rožňavy. First mention about this castle cames of year 1333. Since 1963 is castle national monument. Owned by three major families:Mariássy, Bebek and Andrássy.

Ochtinská Aragonite Cave

Is a specific phenomenon also from the world caves perspective, which attracts every visitor by its variability, wealth and beauty of aragonite fill. It is located on the northern slope of the Hrádok Hill in the Slovak Ore Mountains on the road between Štítnik and Jelšava, 26 km from Rožňava. It is the only one of its kind in Europe and stands out by aragonite fills of various forms. It´s a Aragonite gem of the World Heritage.

The centre of this region is town Revuca where the first Slovak Grammar school was founded in 1862. Many famous and important Slovakian writers and rousers lived and worked in this town or region. Well known in this area are also Gothic road.

Nationa Parka Muránska planina

This area is very popular for its caves, precipices and interesting stone oufits. Wide variety of animal, plants and also few endemits cen be found here. The most popular and well know plant is Lykovec muransky which does not grow anywhere else in the world except this National park. Typical is also breefding half-wild horses celled Norik muransky. The top of the rock called „Ciganka“ is the place where the ruins of Muran castel can be found.

Betliar

The museum specialises in documenting history of gentry. It sits in a past hunting palace of the Andrassy family (National Cultural Monument), which is situated in a large romantic park in Betliar.The mansion was one of many other gentry houses of the family till 1945. The first building dates back to the first half of 15th century. Since the end of 18th century the family started forming, as it was common then among gentry families, a natural park closely corresponding to surrounding nature. Soon it was enlarged and filled in with many dendrology specialities, which now form 80-hectare complex park with many water and constructive attractions.
