The design of sliding sashes is strictly individual and starts with a research of all requirements of the window manufacturer. The optimized technical solution can cover needs of sash replacement in existing boxes and the serial production of sliding sash windows. The tooling system can be used for single tenons when the sashes are thin or a comb joint for double glazed sash sections.

The Traditional Window System with common fl ush appearance is essential for all bespoke manufactures focused on windows replacement in conservation areas. The system off ers a complete solution for side or top hung outward opening casements with mullions, transoms and fi xed glazed frames, also designed for main entrance doors using the traditional ironmongery.

The Traditional Sliding Sash Window is a very popular window throughout the British Isles. The technical design allows for single glazing or provides high-performance double glazing with the application of perimeter gaskets using traditional weights and pulleys or spring balances with a tilt facility as an option. The right tooling and equipment enables the manufacturing of all parts necessary for the construction, meeting rails can incorporate many diff erent gaskets and decorative horns details can be infi nitely variable. Sash design in several thicknesses will allow for single or slimline double glazing which can meet almost all requirements for existing sash window refurbishment.

The horizontal milling unit on the tenoning machine helps to make this important sash detail in the automatic cycle.

Traditional meeting rails for sash window refurbishment when a slim design for single glazing is required or for double glazing when limited by existing box depths. Design of cutters allows moulding of glass rebates or grooving even the diff erent meeting rail bevels on the machining center.

The Storm-proof window is characterized by the casement being overlapped or rebated past the front face of the window frame. This design became popular due to its greater tolerances allowing for past industrial window manufacturing. The hardware system needs special stormproof hinges on side or friction stays often seen as top hung. A special drainage groove in the cavity between the casement and the frame stops water coming ingress.

The High Performance Flush Window hides the lip of casement rebate in a deeper frame profi le. This detail enables the use of a second gasket required for energy effi cient windows and for high weather and acoustic performance. The fully hidden projecting hinges increase the security standard and the operating comfort.

Flush casement windows come from the traditional window design but they are intended for the industrial manufacturing with a drainage system for the improved weather performance. Sophisticated projecting hinges enable easy-clean opening or a fully reversible operation and a multi-point locking espagnolette system with a night ventilation option provides exceptional levels of security.

External beading can be substituted by the Posilok aluminium ventilated glazing bead in a fl at or angled rebate. The compressed gasket is fi tted in the frame grooving.

Internal beading with a silicon groove for invisible stapling with a lateral gasket made on the window center using the top milling unit. The triple glazed section with imitation putty detail outside, a double sash perimeter weather-seal and rebated glazing bead.

Glazing alternativesThe drained glass rebating with beading is designed for 24 mm - the most eff ective size of double glass unit and can be situated inside or outside. Externally beaded glazing off ers a more sympathetic solution with regardsto interior mouldings. The bottom bead can be replaced by the aluminium profi le allowing a higher resistance and glazing area ventilation. Internal beading provides the enhanced security and improved weatherperformance and can imitate the original putty glazing to the exterior.

Frame and Casement moulding details The moulding shape can be changed by diff erent knives using the same cutter. It gives a variety of mouldings imitating the original style. The rounding of exposed parts allows for long term performance of the full factoryfi nishing. Components like window sill extension, head drip or glazing beads are successfully produced onfour-side moulding machine. Cutters for those particular profi les are designed with utilization in diff erent profi les in order to reduce the tooling costs.

Hardware systemsNext to the traditional window ironmongery used in bespoke manufacturing there is the option of modernhardware off ering a multipoint locking system with a night ventilation function, full or reversible opening and other benefi ts. The tooling design will match the well-known hardware brands to enable convenient assemblyof the windows and doors. Gaskets in the right application can face all aspects of the weather. The gasket grooves are variable to allow for diff erent kinds of compressing weather-seals regarding the local environment

Quick and Easy Exchange Tooling

The fl exible tooling system utilizes basic cutters which are combined for the respective casement design. Cutters are assembled on sleeves in order to make the change quick and easy. If rounded joints are needed we can fi t rounding knives on the prepared seats or keep it traditionally fl at without them.

Aluminium Faced Window

The High Performance Flush Window with a triple glazed unit meets the highest of requirements. The casement extension with a deeper glazing rebate for higher thermal effi ciency to the interior does not disturb the fl ush exterior line. The projected glazing bead allows the required casement ventilation.

The timber Mock Sash Window is used as a less expensive alternative to keep the authenticity of the look of the Sliding Sash Window. The system is based on a High Performance Flush Window design utilising scribed sash horns to maintain the traditional appearance. The superior sash opens outwards using either stormproof top hung hinges or friction stays. A dummy bottom sash ensures equal sight lines of the window. The bottom sash can be side hung when a fi re escape window is required.

The Aluminium Faced Timber Window with the contemporary design gives low maintenance and modern styling to the exterior with a traditional timber frame on the interior with regards to fi nishing options. The aluminium clad profi les from leading European manufacturers can be applied on the High Performance Flush Window or on Flush Window system even with fully reversible hardware. The combination of windows, doors and conservatoriescomponents give us a complete multi-light frame facade system.
