Biographical Sketch
Tony Kushner is a playwright born in Manhattan, New York and raised in Lake Charles,
Louisiana, where he graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1974. He received his
undergraduate degree from Columbia, and then took a master’s in theater at New York
University. His plays include “A Bright Room Called Day” and “Angels in America,” for which
he received the Pulitzer prize.
Scope and Content
The collection is comprised primarily of newspaper and magazine articles about Kushner and his
plays. Also included are playbills and a poster.
