he OFS Toneable Mini LT Flat Drop Cable offers a

compact, durable, and easy-to-locate fiber solution

in a readily accessible construction. The cables webbed

es gn a ows t e ocat ng w re to e eas y separate rom

he main cable sheath by hand, providing simple, rapid

routing and grounding of the locating wire.

o construct the cable, up to 12 optical fibers are placedin a 2.0 mm gel-filled buffer tube to create a flexible, easy-

o-access core. Next, two fiberglass rods are placed dia-

metrically opposite on either side of the fiber core, provid-

ing excellent crush resistance and tensile strength during

installation and over the lifetime of the cable. A 24 AWG

copper w re s a gne a ong t e outs e e ge o one o

he fiberglass rods to provide locatability. The locating wire,

strength member rods, and fiber core are then encapsu-

ate n a ura e po yet y ene ac et to create a at

cable cross section and lend added protection to the cable

core. Between the locating wire and the adjacent fiberglass

ro , t e ac et orms a t n we t at s eas y separate y

hand, allowing quick removal of the copper wire from the

main sheath.
