Three children were the chosen ones; they were the first to be led to the secret land of Melodia. Soon, a veritable army followed, though not an army of weapons and hate but an army of soon-to-be friends, of smiles, of people on each others shoulders. It was you who came here, together with tens of thousands of peaceful comrades, ready to learn all about the mystery of music. For that is what goes on inside the castle and the Kingdom at large: music is created and melodies made. Yesterday, the doors of the castle grinded open, pouring out the harmonies inside. Youve seen how it works now. Musicians operate

mechanisms made through magic, the acoustics of the castle amplify and add allure and artistry to sound. Across the lands the music echoes, finding listening ears amongst the crowds. They respond in dance and joy and song: they are the People of Tomorrow, the ones who make Melodia complete. Now that you have conquered the castle, you know what to do this Saturday. You must sing along, dance along, and do your part more than ever before. And make sure your friends, neighbours, everyone around you joins. Together, well perform a symphony the greatest one Tomorrowland has ever heard!

Another day, another line-up full of the very best electronic music has to offer. Choose between acts as diverse as Maceo Plex, Koven and Cosmic Gate, between stages as diverse as Ketaloco, Q-dance and Revealed; whatever your heart desires, its there. At the Mainstage, warm up slowly with Martin Solveig, jump up to Dillon Francis fun-loving moombahton and join Armin van Buuren in a trance-filled journey. And if all of that has you feeling like a superhero, Laidback Lukes Super You&Me stage is exactly where you want to be. This Saturday is saturated with outstanding sounds.

THE KINGDOMS HIDDEN CORNERSIn a land as big as Melodia, its easy to lose track of where you want to go. During the weekend, this newspaper will serve as your guide to Tommorrowland. Not only metaphorically, but also literally: as an introduction, we show you around the little-known spots and secret hideaways ready to explore all across the grounds. Today, we introduce you to the Mythical Frames foodcourt and a spot with a view near the Mainstage.

The Mythical Frames stage, though very large, isnt a place where you end up very easily if you dont know the labels hosting there. Which is a

shame, really, because a wonderful, permanent tent-like covering has been put up there last year. Come rain or sunshine, theres always a dry place to enjoy a drink and a bite here. Food with a view and a soundtrack, that is, as the front of the court opens up unto the dancefloor of the area, behind which rise up the Frames, always displaying some spectacular show or other.

Another spot you pass by all too easily can be found close to the Garden of Madness. It is found on the roads that run down from the foodcourt by the DreamVille entrance towards the One World bridge. There, right

in front of the stairs towards the Mainstage Comfort Zone, is a funky, grassy spot with a spectacular view. Pick a good-looking patch of grass and sit down with a beer from the bar, then take in the scenery. Not only are you surrounded by enchantingly meandering paths, chairs and hills when you look towards the other side of the festival grounds, a noteworthy vista presents itself. The massive mesh of steel bars and beams that is the One World statue provides a stark contrast with the fairytale setting of the Opera stage and the Cloud Rider way off in the distance. A perfect example of the beauty of Tomorrowland.

While some are brushing their teeth after a night full of gathering and making new friends, others find themselves waking up with toothpaste on their faces. What happened last night is still unclear exactly. One thing is for certain, though; this is the break of dawn at Dreamville. In a place were so many people unite to party, sleep, eat and repeat, you could expect anything to happen. But this morning, the People of Tomorrow are taking it easy. Theyre saving their energy for greater times ahead. Yesterday, the gates of Melodia opened for the first time. The Kingdom revealed its secrets. Now its time to reveal yours. Good morning!

BREAKING FAST WITHLast year Andreas and his Swiss friends spent their nights in Easy Tents. But this year they upgraded to a Dream Lodge. We love to do groceries at the Carrefour in Boom and have a nice breakfast before we start the day. We like the camp feeling, but the crowds are insane sometimes. The Dream Lodge is just the thing for us. We have a terrace, and the atmosphere is amazing. Theyre nicely decorated and the beds, oh, the beds

CALL FOR BATTERIES & BREAKFAST

Thought you packed everything for Tomorrowland, but got too excited and forgot that one crucial item? No worries, the Tomorrowland community comes to the rescue! Whether its your Speedo swimming gear, a big flag of your country, grease paint to decorate yourself or something completely different, pin it on our daily bulletin board in the newspaper. Youll be surprised to see what your festival friends come up with. Today, its Sara who has a request for you. Im looking for two things; a battery pack and a nice breakfast handed over by a handsome guy. The battery is to charge my phone and the breakfast to charge myself! I really would love a pistolet with filet Americain. I am not very demanding, so handsome guy could very much be you! Can you help poor, hungry Sara out? Go and bring het that breakfast at the big fountain on DreamVille, near the exit towards the festival, at 11:00 a.m.!

If Amanda would be a stage, she would be the Mainstage. So well decorated! I spend every

morning by doing my make-up!

We woke up and started talking about what were going to drink for breakfast!

TIP FOR TOMORROW DreamVille is a beautiful place, but we need each other to keep it like that. A tip to help you recycle: set up trashcans and ashtrays as soon as you can! Use a sturdy tent pole, chair or something similar to attach that big red trash bag you received to. And for good measure, cut a can in half or use an empty cup as an ashtray. If you do this right away, its much easier to dispose of your waste properly from the start.

Lowie went to bed early yesterday and unfortunately, he had to sleep alone. But

tonight is going to be mad!

Natalie from Norway is just brushing her teeth: I woke up around 9. I had a great time yesterday at The

Gathering. I made a lot of friends, and hope to meet them later today!

Ruben: Yes people, dont forget to brush your teeth everyday! Two minutes down, two minutes up!

DID YOU EVER WONDER?A thousand questions, a thousand and one answers. The all-knowing birds and bees of the District houses provide the answer to any question you can conjure up. And even though we always say there are no dumb questions, community centre worker Kaya had a weird experience this morning. A guy came to ask for a garbage bag. Apparently somebody, eh... couldnt make it to the toilet last night. So when he woke up he found something brown in front of his tent. By the way, we can provide a lot but are no cleaning service!

Do you want to hide away from all the madness for a second? Tuck yourself into one of the cozy corners of LEAF Island and enjoy all of its benefits. Oh, and they have delicious gin & tonics!

Making its debut at Tomorrowland, the LEAF by Mastercard Island is a real eyecatcher. Accessible for everyone, there are a lot of cool (and free!) things to do. One of the better features are the free massages. If youre feeling tired, head on over to the lovely ladies at the massage tables. Be sure to reserve your spot, because youre not the only one who wants a couple minutes of their attention. After this marvelous treatment, you can head over to the bar for some of the best gin & tonics ever made. Maureen and Muriel are delighted with this cute little island. It has a bit of an exclusive vibe, and because of all the plants it looks something like a maze, exciting!

When we were enjoying the official opening of Tomorrowland yesterday afternoon, we noticed something remarkable. Apart from the king and his royal entourage what a welcome speech he gave by the way we saw another surprising face. Right in the crowd, with his hands up in the air, Captain America was celebrating the moment with us. Hes not the actual Captain, he explained more like a stand-in. Well, actually more a like a step-in. Wondering what the story behind his appearance was, Tomorrowland Today spent an hour with this faux Captain America.

I like to dress to impress, the Captain says, after revealing his real name, Matteu. Its really hot in this suit but all the attention is just wonderful. People are taking photographs and smile when they see me. Especially the Americans. To the question if Matteu feels like a real superhero, he honestly answers: Not so much, yet. But if anyones in real trouble, Ill be on my way!

Like the real Captain America, Matteu is also in possession of a sturdy shield. The attention is nice, but he needs some protection too. It comes in the form of two dinosaurs, going by the names of Antoine and Jeffrey. We are his protectors. Apparently he is the most popular guy in all of Tomorrowland with his beard and his suit. We were even filmed by the aftermovie crew this morning. If we just start to dance people are immediately taking photographs of us. We are dinosaurs because we are huge fans of Jurassic Park. With the new movie now in theaters we simply had to put on this outfit. And its very comfortable and airy too.

The trio starts walking towards the I Love the 90s stage. Im sweating so much, but were heading to the front. Yeah! As they mingle into the bouncing crowd, we sneak away. Stay strong out there, Captain!

PHOTO CANAL BOATThe group boat ride in Amsterdam was incredible. Being able to socialize and meet other people of Tomorrowland helped establish new companionships. The overall layout of the event set the atmosphere for an unforgettable time. The hosts were very informative and helped to answer all our questions about the different ins and outs of the city.

FOR SOME PEOPLE, THE JOURNEY TO TOMORROWLAND STARTED WITH A VISIT TO A COUPLE OF OTHER, NEARLY AS MAGICAL KINGDOMS. HEINEKEN MIXINGThrough the highly helpful trip coupons, we were able to visit the Heineken Brewery for a very reasonable price. There, we learned the fascinating history of the brand and how it has involved into the beer we know today. We were also lucky enough to explore their plethora of interactive activities and even learn to pour our own beer under the supervision of professionals.

BARCELONA

BIKES BARCELONAThe city-specific offers included a comprehensive bike ride tour through the heart of Barcelona. We divulged into the various artistic styles of buildings that the city provides such as the Sagrada Familia church and the other works of the famous artist Gaudi. The tour guide was exceptionally versed in whatever questions we had.

CAMP NOUFC Barcelona is easily our favorite football team across the world. We were ecstatic to be able to tour and experience the massive stadium where these legendary players create history within the sport. The euphoric feeling of just simply being at this world famous stadium was a gift in itself. Of course we had to purchase a jersey in the shop as a constant reminder of the memory of the tour.

BRUSSELS

AMERICAN BELGIUMShortly after the insane party flight into Brussels, we received the plans for the Belgian pre-party. Our group loved all the pre-planned stops on the map, especially the Comic Book Museum and the Delirium Bar. We were pampered with all the best that Belgium has to offer. We were pleasantly surprised to hear that we had been invited to the Gathering this year in DreamVille. Instantly after arrival, we fell in love with the Tomorrowland festival and the people. The various cultures and their ability to unite into one through music and love astonished me and left me speechless.

TOMORROWLANDAfter this incredible trip, its time for the madness! We enjoyed partying with all of our new friends and making bonds that will last a lifetime.

ALL OUR FRIENDS ENVY USMaarten and Lotte are together at Tomorrowland, and even though theyre having a blast, they feel the envy of their friends who are stuck at home while they are here starting new friendships.

The Belgian couple did a couple of things very well. First of all, they got Lottes mom to get behind the computer and purchase the tickets. Second of all, they got the tickets all of their friends wanted! Lottes mom managed to acquire a day ticket for Friday, and Maarten and Lotte are loving it. Theres one thing they regret though. That we have to leave at the end of the day is a shame, Maarten says. Weve seen so many festivals in Belgium, but Tomorrowland is really something special. There are so many details, even the smallest things are pretty. The Mainstage is extraordinary! This romantic ride through the clouds couldve been a lot less romantic, but a lot more crowded if all their friends who wanted to come had actually gotten tickets. Thats why Lotte is determined to bring all of their buddies next year. Well make sure we all get tickets. For the full weekend!

TOP TIPS FROM THE PROS Maybe youve met Jeroen, Sven, Tim and Kristof already, since they work as stewards on the festival site. Lucky enough for them, they have some time off as well. And luckily for you, while were going to the top, theyre willing to share their top Tomorrowland tips.

One of the most common mistakes people make is that they forget where their tent is, Jeroen says. This is very easy to fix. Just take a picture of your tent number and the section where youve pitched your tent. This way, if youre really lost, at least we can guide you in the right direction. Sven pitches in with his tip of the day. Dont be afraid to miss something and try everything, like this Ferris wheel. All these extras are what sets Tomorrowland apart from all the other festivals, so please try them out! Last but not least, the boys have one piece of binding advice: Dont. Do. Drugs. Weve seen so many people so far whove had their bracelets deactivated, who are thrown off the festival and the camping, they say. Its just such a shame to see the look of disbelief and horror on someones face when they realize theyre really being thrown off. Its not worth it people, dont take any chances!

Whats the similarity between Antony and Lena and the top of the Cloud Rider? They both have the world at their feet. In Antony and Lenas case its not because they are sitting at 55 meters above the ground, its because they are truly, madly, deeply in love.

Antony is a Tomorrowland veteran, hes here for no less than the fifth time! In the past year he met his girlfriend Lena and he told her all about the wonderful world of Tomorrowland. I tried to explain how big, crazy and fairytale-like Tomorrowland is, but never really succeeded. Luckily I was convincing enough to make her come with me this year, and its awesome. Lena cant do much more than smile and gaze at the world thats unraveling below her feet as we climb higher and higher. The festival is so big! And all the details are breathtaking. We just went to the Mainstage and saw how big it was, I couldnt believe it. At the top, the two cant help but sneak in a romantic kiss with a view. Antony says that out of all the five times hes been to Tomorrowland, this edition is the most magical. Because theres love in the air!

So Nick. High expectations for tonights show?Definitely. Its the fifth year I am playing and its one of the best festivals out there. The stage is crazy, the crowd is pumped, so I dont know anything that could go wrong tonight.

Your label Protocol just put out its 50th release. Your single Lighthouse had the honours. How does that feel?It feels absolutely great. I didnt expect it to grow as fast as it did, nor to have such a steady flow of releases. I think we achieved what we wanted to achieve: to release decent records and keep the focus of what we put out on quality rather than quantity. Theres a lot of effort in it and the fiftieth release is a way of celebrating the things Protocol has achieved these last years. I hope the listeners feel the same way, so that we can look forward to the next couple of years and new releases.

Is this new release also a new sound for you? And if so, what can we expect in the near future? For me personally it really feels like a new era. Im definitely keeping my own sound but may want to

slow down the BPMs a little. Maybe back to 124, or maybe even lower. The things that are coming up are slower in comparison to the stuff I make now, but they definitely have that same sound to them.

Since your label Protocol is basically family, could you tell our readers a bit about what you think the importance of family is? Well, for me family is one of the most important things there are. Its the foundation that essentially drives our label. Protocol is all about that family feeling and makes new artists that join feel welcome to our group. We want to make them part of our family. That also applies to all the fans, they are family too.

And is Tomorrowland also part of your family?After playing for more than four years I think I can say that I have become family. Off course last year was special, as it celebrated an anniversary with two weekends in a row. But this year is a fresh start for the years up ahead and I think we all see a bright future out there.

NICKY ROMEROS FAMILY PROTOCOL

Long before Nicky Romero was topping the charts he was just a kid, like all of us. And we all remember what we wanted to be when we were young, right? Firefighter, architect, or maybe even the king or queen of Melodia. Nicky also knew what his future profession would be... Until he touched his first drum pads at an early age. He wanted to connect with music, and as it turned out he was good at it. Before his show yesterday at the Mainstage, we had some time to speak with him about his growing Protocol label, the future and the importance of family. (Oh yeah: and if it wasnt for the music he would probably have become a cop. Just like his parents.)

Did you know that Nicky Romero has worked together with a wide variety of artists? In doing so, hes made songs that expanded his own sound and view on music. Take the worldwide hit Legacy with EDM duo Krewella, for example, or the explosive Feet On the Ground with Dutch singer Anouk or Let Me Feel with the guys from Vicetone. And we are sure that Nicky has a lot more in store for us the next couple of years.

Ban Ki-moon can have meAfter stalking Kofi Annan for years, this sneaky little maneater has now set her heart on Ban Ki-moon. Its not like she specifically digs older men... or people of colour... but men with power make her go crazy! As rumour has it Ban Ki-moon might visit Tomorrowland this year, shes probably hanging around the One World bridge somewhere.

Media sharing app Snapchat enables you to share your Tomorrowland experience via a single large Snapchat story. To everyone who owns a smartphone: check your notification bar, you might have received a message from the Snapchat team. This is no ordinary system update alert; its a message for all Tomorrowland goers to share their Tomorrowland moments in one super-massive Snap story. On Friday and Saturday, anyone attending the festival will be able to

add picture or video Snaps to a special Our Tomorrowland Story section of the app.

The love for Tomorrowland is unconditional for all of us, but sometimes it starts at a younger age than you could reasonably expect. In Boom, the town next to the festival grounds, eight-year-old Yente has been waiting for the People of Tomorrow for two days already. Yente started sitting by the road on Thursday, patiently collecting as many nationalities as she can. How? By making them point out their city of origin on a map. Why? Because she just loves Tomorrowland so much already! Isnt that beautiful? The Belgian media already noticed her special mission, and she obviously deserves a spot in Tomorrowland Today as well. Keep on loving the People of Tomorrow, Yente, they love you back! We hope to see you here in the future.

TOMORROWLANDS YOUNGEST FAN?Of course, all of Tommorrowland cares for each other and wants to keep as close to each other as possible. CLASSIC TOMORROWLAND

DJ and producer Regi, known from successful Belgian dance formation Milk Inc., has mixed electronic music with classical music before. In association with girls choir Scala, he created the performance I Fail. What a lot of people dont know nor expect, is that Regi has had a lot of classical music schooling.

I studied twelve years of classical guitar, six years of music theory and four more years of harmonics, Regi says. That was a bit too much, but I still took some aspects out of it that are helping me today. In pop music, you have a lot less notes than in classical music. Still, a lot of pop music uses the Canon of Pachelbel for instance, there are even videos on YouTube showing that a lot of pop music is basically the same. So of

course everything is connected to classical music. Its very convenient that I have that basis, it gives me the freedom to decide for myself what I want to do. When it comes to listening to music, Im not really a specialist. I only know the Night of the Prom classics and the 9th symphony of Beethoven. I only know the fun, the hits.

Ive been called the Mozart of dance music a lot, and of course I think thats a compliment. But I really dont want to compare myself to Mozart, that would be too much honour. Mozart was a much better composer than the music producers today. Sometimes people say it with a wink, but I do think that if Mozart wouldve lived today, he would play at Tomorrowland.

ESPECIALLY FOR TOMORROWLAND, CLASSICAL MUSIC STATION KLARA HAS TRIED TO FIND THE LINKS BETWEEN ELECTRONIC AND CLASSICAL MUSIC FOR THE PAST WEEK. THEY INTERVIEWED A NUMBER OF CONTEMPORARY ELECTRONIC ARTISTS TO SEE WHAT THEIR THOUGHTS ARE ON CLASSICAL MUSIC. CONCURRENTLY, THE SHOWS CONSIDER THE WAY THE TWO GENRES DIFFER AND HOW SIMILAR THEY ARE ON THE OTHER HAND.

DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz was one of the first DJs to mix classical music as if it were dance music. At the radio, he spoke about his career and the way he looks at dance and classical music.

I started mixing classical music around five or six years ago. It was really groundbreaking back then and I got invited for multiple pop music festivals, such as Lowlands, where I performed for young people and dance lovers. I also played at afterparties of techno events and at expensive corporate parties.

I mix classical music in a different way than DJs mix dance music. Mixing dance music really focuses on the tempo, while I listen to the timbre and the key tone a lot more. If that doesnt fit, sometimes I alter the music a

little bit. I change the tone a little bit or make it a bit faster or slower than the original if that fits better.

The relationship between classical music and dance is very interesting. I believe that dance has always existed, ever since the first men in Africa were dancing around their fireplace. They already used music, herbs and dance to get into some sort of trance. Thats similar to dance music nowadays. People with the same musical taste come together, maybe take a modern variant of those age-old herbs, and dance the whole day to beats with a pretty repetitive groove. In classical music you dont see that very often, but one of the greatest composers ever, Bach, is famous for his repetitive music. So there are definitely similarities between dance and classical music, if you know where to look.

Dave Clarke is often called the Baron of Techno, and is famous for his innovative and cross-genre music. At Klara, he talks about the composers that inspired him. First of all, Im not going to pretend that I know a lot of classical music. That would be unfair to all those underpaid composers whove studied for years to acquire their knowledge. But classical music definitely inspires me. Rhapsody in Red is an obvious reference to Rhapsody in Blue by American composer George Gerschwin. Im always known as the guy that did Red so I thought this was kind of funny.

One genre that doesnt really float Clarkes boat is opera except for one very special composition. My dad used to be a bit of a technology geek, and he would

always have enormous speakers. Probably my first experience with classical music was when I was little and he played O fortuna fortune from the Carmina Burana, composed by Carl Orff. It starts out so sweet, it really sucks you in and all of the sudden they find a 150 decibels extra and it just blows you away. Due to this memory, its the only vocal classical music I really enjoy.

For Clarke, its really important that classical music is used as inspiration, and not much more than that. I was really traumatized by the way William Orbit, and later Tisto, bastardized the music of Eric Satie. I mean, if you take a sample from a classical piece, or use it as inspiration, thats great. But a complete remake of a classical piece of music is just irrelevant. The fun thing to do, is to make something thats really your own.

DAVE CLARKE

Dimitri Vegas is one of the household names of Tomorrowland. Together with his brother, Like Mike, hes one of the biggest acts on the Main Stage. He explains why he and his brother like to remix classical music. There are a lot of creative melodies in classical music, and it really is a lot of fun to bring the past to the present. This is also our way to educate our fans a little bit, because they usually dont listen to classical music.

I get a lot of my inspiration from classical soundtracks. From Back to the Future, for instance, and Superman and Jurassic Park. Mainly because those tracks take me back to the moment when I first heard them. I went to see the new Jurassic Park movie the other night, and when I hear that theme Im immediately covered in goosebumps. Even after twenty years. Those songs take you back to a specific moment, like youll also never forget the song you heard when you met the love of your life.

Im kind of sorry for myself that I never followed some sort of musical education. Kids nowadays have a really good general knowledge of diverse music styles. Thats why its so nice to see the National Orchestra of Belgium at Tomorrowland for a full hour! A lot of people know the most famous classical music, because almost everyone grew up with at least a little bit of classical music. Thats why its nice, and surprising, to switch to classical instruments in the middle of a song. It really works.

As a teenager, Martin Solveig was a solo singer in the famous French boy choir Petits Chanteurs de Sainte-Croix de Neuilly. This has lead to him having a strong focus on classical music in his current productions. Because of all the things I learned being part of the choir, you may often hear cerebral sounding vocal segments as a big part of my songs. Secondly, I learned to make the music less complex. Classical pieces are often heavy and complex and in order to be able to use them for choir purposes they have to be stripped down to the pure essence. Thats exactly what I intend to do in my own productions. I also love the way vocals provide extra texture to the music. As you may know, electronic music used to be 100% instrumental until

somewhere in the eighties. Adding vocals and putting a lot of effort in them became my trademark and Im very proud of that.

Although he likes putting elements of classical music in his songs, Martins never sampled them. The main reason there is that when it comes to the instrumental, melodic parts of my songs the influence of classical music is miles away. Those parts are carried by the pure and raw rhythm of bass and drums, both of which are barely present in the classical pieces by Debussy or Chopin I like so much. Classical music doesnt thrive on rhythm as much as it does on suspense.

Get snapped by one of Canons professional photographers that are stationed at the Mainstage, the Opera stage, the One World bridge, the globe info point and the big Tomorrowland sign across from the Rave Cave. Once you have a picture taken by them, simply use the RFID magic possessed by your bracelet to unlock your photo. Hold up your bracelet to their custom transmitter, press the button and the photo will be uploaded to your profile. Even if your profile hasnt been activated yet, youll receive your picture by email along with an invitation to the community. Its a great way to share.

Ever worry that maybe, being hungover and looking for some warmth, youre wasting too much time in the shower? Not to fear the DreamVille showers have been made a lot more comfortable, while at the same time contributing to a better future.

Water is a precious, indispensable source of life. GROHE tries to develop products that help you to enjoy water to the fullest, without having to use too much of it. For Tomorrowland, it is important to have fun while keeping one eye on the future. The colourful Rainshower Flowers have replaced all the indoor showers and have been installed as outdoor showers as well. The mothership of all K-Events is celebrating its 20th anniversary of space travel throughout the techno universe. Since its beginnings in 1995, Kozzmozz has grown and evolved along with techno itself, delivering quality and mind-blowing parties year by year. Kozzmozz helped forge and strengthen the techno scene and exposed the Belgian audience to a lot of international artists. They were the first to launch an electro room long before the hype. Today, techno is back with a vengeance. This comeback drove Kozzmozz to reclaim its place on the techno throne of Belgium as the biggest and hottest techno event in the country. Today, Kozzmozz will bring techno greats like Johannes Heil, Speedy J and Luke Slater to Tomorrowland. Organizer Mathias Kerckhof: Kozzmozz has been a part of Tomorrowland since day one and weve been delivering the exquisite techno goods since then. We feel a mutual respect between the festival and ourselves and that has lead to some more than magical moments.

Planting and growthThe strawberries that are destined for Tomorrowland come from the summer crop. It takes about three months to grow these strawberries for you, so they were planted around April this year.

Harvesting and packingThe strawberries you might buy today were picked the day before. Right after harvesting they are packed and cooled to two degrees Celsius to ensure the highest possible quality.

Quality controlIn the next step of the process the strawberries are taken to an auction house for a quality check. An expert checks them for size, colour and quality in general before sending them off to customers.

TransportationThe nearly ice-cold fruit is transported from the grower to the auction house and from the auction house to the festival grounds. This is how they make sure that the trip from plant to festival is as short as possible.

Arrival at TomorrowlandThe strawberries leave the auction house, which is 56 kilometers away from the festival grounds, around 7 oclock in the morning. They arrive here every day around 8 to be distributed across shop, bars and restaurant.

Selling the strawberriesThe strawberries are sold in a special Fresh Strawberries stand on Tomorrowland. Three people are ready to provide you with delicious and fresh berries there. Furthermore, they make desserts, strawberry daiquiris and other cocktails. Perfect for a refreshing bite or drink!

From Field To Fresh Fruit

The People of Tomorrow deserve no less than the best of everything. There is more to discover than parties and music; food and fresh fruits, for instance. For the third year in a row, Hoogstraten is present on the festival to provide you with the best, beautifully red and sweet ELSANTA strawberries. More than 2000 trays of them have been provided for this weekend, besides 500kg of pulp for the production of cocktails. And thats not even counting the strawberries delivered for the desserts made by chef Roger van Damme. Watch and learn how these little red beauties come right off the neighbouring fields and into your tummy.

On the food market behind the Mainstage, Mo serves Fish & Chips! The fish is fresh cod dipped in dough. Its served with a fresh tartar sauce, pea tapenade and a piece of lime.

Everybody comes here to have a good time, but there are also some other things that we should not forget about. Eating, for instance! Making some time for that is not only very important for your health, but Tomorrowland offers so much good food that you would be sorry to miss it. Here are some options for you to make the search a bit easier.

If you are very hungry and you just feel like a good old pizza slice, search for the Authentic Pizza stand. Pizza Peppers serves various pizzas, including the one and only Tomorrowland Pizza!

Moochie serves refreshing Frozen Yoghurt snacks on top of the hill at the Mainstage. These are adorned with a large variety of toppings, from a number of fruits to chocolate, Oreo, and M&Ms.

Thaiphoon provides the Asian Food on the food court close to the exit to DreamVille. Try the egg rolls, prawn crackers or get yourself a chicken satay menu if youre very hungry.

Balls & Glory serves authentic Belgian stuffed meatballs. Its the special recipe of Wim Ballieu, a chef from Ghent. The pork meatballs are filled with diverse ingredients like mushrooms, truffles, and apple. They also serve a veggie ball!

Eat like no one is watching Wait, we got that wrong! Dance like no one is watching and eat like you love yourself. Every third moon, the stars align to form a unique pathway towards a well-nigh perfect world. In this meta-galaxy, food and dance fuse and merge to form a phenomenon that makes all of your senses tremble with vast rapture. This is the world of B-Eat, where DJs cook up the beats while renowned chefs drop one tidbit after another. Dine like a king, dance like a queen! After a succesful start last year, B-Eat has returned to Tomorrowland and is now located just behind the Mainstage. The concept consists of a DJ and a chef working together to create an experience that stimulates all of the senses. Last year we saw Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix and Regi heating up the kitchens of chefs Roger Van Damme, Peppe Giacomozza and Wim Balieu. Friday it was chef and star chocolatier Dominique Persoones turn to set the place afire with an exquisite five course menu, while Yves V took care of mixing it all up with tasteful bangers. Chef Dominique Persoone sure likes this concept, though it makes communication a bit difficult. We have to shout everything (laughs). But the whole atmosphere inside the B-Eat room counts as an extra incentive to

perform even better both for the DJ and myself! Luckily, everything went smoothly as Persoone worked his magic, resulting in the production of five delicious courses from the kitchen. All were just as heavenly as they were eye-candy. People responded really, really well to what were cooking up in here. Weve got a tequila-flavoured mash up with pulpa de cacao served up in a shot glass made of ice, an old school tomato salad with mozzarella ice cream Were on fire! All the while the lucky

ones that took part in this feast took one selfie after the other with the chef and the DJ, backed by the fancy furnishings of their high class restaurant/club right in the middle of the festival. As the audience kept indulging itself in all these delights, Yves V pumped the thermometer into the red and even the air conditioning couldnt cope. But you know what they say: if you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

Cocoon celebrated their 15th anniversary last year and is back with a full-on vinyl only stage. Expect a serious selection of back gold; a record bag only fits a few, so its bound to be the good ones. These fine grooves will be played by none other than guys like Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex and the initiator Sven Vth. He began his love affair with Cocoon back in 1999, creating a platform that allowed artists, new and old, to express themselves and deliver something memorable. Want to make some new memories too? We Play House is exactly what the name suggests: a label releasing house music in all its shapes and forms. But We Play House is more than just a name, its a declaration. This Belgian label has an excellent catalogue and an impressive artist roster. Its roots are founded on a love for house in its various manifestations. Not just repetitive electronic grooves or disco loops, but also brand new hip-house tracks. Mousse T and Prosumer are just some of the names which will give us the grooves to dance to. Martins big break, at the tender age of 18 and thanks to the encouragement and support of mentor Claude Monnet, came when he landed a residency at prestigious Parisian nightspot Le Palace. A move to Les Bains Douches, a legendary club in the city, and then Solveigs own Pure parties at Queen cemented his growing reputation as someone to watch at the Mainstage, for example, where he hosts todays Daybreak Session. Yet simply being a DJ has never been enough for Martin Solveig. His production ideas soon began to filter out onto vinyl, as he always knew they would. Solveig is not prolific, but everything he makes is worth waiting for. He has always eschewed the remix treadmill, not because he disapproves of it, but because it is simply not his path. His destiny lies elsewhere. His life is good. Fulfilled. Even if I sometimes grumble a bit from tiredness, Im a child blessed by fortune and very happy in my everyday life, chuckles Martin. I should quote Karl Lagerfeld: Holidays are for people who work. And all work and no play would make Martin a very dull boy indeed.

Lets start with, obviously, your most recent release. How did people respond to Lose Control?I have to say the audience reacted really, really great to it and that obviously made me very happy. Its always a bit of a wait-and-see game when youre awaiting the publics response. How did you feel about the result yourself? And how does it relate to Project One?To me it always is a bit of a difficult moment when you have to hand in the album because in my opinion its never really finished. But Im absolutely proud of every single track that made the album and I had a blast working on it. Working together with the people in the studio that had a hand in it was also great. Still, it just cant really be compared to Project One, which I did together with Headhunterz. Lose Control is my actual debut album and its an endeavour that is totally my own and wherein Ive put every inch of my own self. Of course were also very curious about what youll be doing in the future. Are there any new projects at hand?Needless to say theres some new singles on their way and Im working on tracks with other artists which will be released on my own label. Next to that Ive committed myself to supporting Demi Kanon, a fresh new talent who is on his way to become one of the big headliners on events and festivals. You should

definitely check his tracks out, his production level is already through the roof! And to my hardcore fans: rest assured, I have no intention of leaving the hardstyle path. But dont expect me to make just standard hardstyle, Ive got my mind set on experimenting here and there. For the fans that arent familiar with hardstyle, can you explain what hardstyle is and how your sounds relates to the whole of it?Hardstyle is obviously a bit harder than what most people are used to and revolves around 150 beats per minute, whereas house lies around 128 bpm. I love it when music gets a bit tougher and rougher, but I have a soft spot for the more euphoric side of hardstyle. Next to some tracks of my own album, my set at Tomorrowland will also consist of some more recognizable vocals and tracks, but driven by a more sturdy, sharper edge. I think you might best describe my music as enjoyable music with a positive vibe, but just a bit harder than what your everyday house-head is used to, haha. Your album stands for a positivity that seems to be rare in todays hardstyle scene. Would you rather see yourself as a part of the upcoming deep/tropical house scene, or of the hard, but sometimes dark and mean raw hardstyle sound?Neither. Surely, there are some great deep/tropical house tracks, but that wont be what Ill be doing in

the studio any time soon. On the other hand, that raw side of hardstyle is so ruthless and hard these days that the aspect of fun is hard to find for me. I think I see myself somewhere in between house and hardstyle, covering a whole new playground where the possibilities are endless. You played Tomorrowland for the first time in 2008 and you have been part of the festival yearly since 2010. How did you experience the growth of the festival? And would you like to do a Mainstage gig once?Ive seen Tomorrowland grow out to become the worlds biggest festival and year after year they just keep on expanding and doing crazier things. Its a real honour and privilege to be able to play this festival. And of course, I wouldnt say no if they asked me to play the Mainstage, haha! Thats definitely one of the things that is still left on my bucket list! Are there any other festivals left on your bucket list? Is there anything that can exceed headlining Defqon.1 for a hardstyle guy?Defqon.1 is and always will be one of the biggest festivals within the hardstyle genre and its a truly magical thing to do the closing set at the mainstage there. But my dream, ultimately, is to play as many festivals as possible with a wide range of styles in their line up.

Hey I hope yall here enjoying yourself! Im just up here funkin around! Remember how Berlin based producer Oliver Dollar hit the big time with #1 Beatport track Doin Ya Thang? The past few years have seen his name gradually build to a recognizable staple of house music. Oliver $ has gained acknowledgment through a series of solid releases on labels such as Play It Down, Rekids and Front Room Recordings. These last two years collaborations have been key, releasing with Cajmere on his label Cajual and also being part of the Green Velvet album on Relief Records with dancefloor killer Dance To My Beat. In 2014 he reunited with Swiss jazz house aficionado Jimi Jules for their anticipated debut release on the mighty Defected. Now he is working on a Made for the Night compilation with Jesse Rose, accompanied by a world tour. Its his house and we should be happy to be living in it.

Krewella hails from the city of Chicago, Illinois, and consists of sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf. They first burst into the electronic dance scene in 2011 and were immediately recognized and noticed for their signature brand of vocally-driven electro tunes. Soon after debuting their self-produced and self-released, chart-topping and critically-acclaimed Play Hard EP in 2012, their progressive house anthem Alive was surging through radio stations all over the world. Since then they have become world-renowned for their infectious live energy, which has led them to headline some of the biggest festivals in the world. They bring the rock to the rave. Always pushing boundaries, they never stopped combining elements of rock, pop and dance into the powerful hybrid that is known as the Krewella electropunk sound. Theyre a more than solid act in between Superheroes like Martin Solveig, Laidback Luke and Sander van Doorn.

Karotte is the story of a music freak gone professional. He may seem a bit strange at first, but this doesnt affect his being on top of his game. Always wanting the people to hear new music, classics are not really his cup of tea. His job in the record industry had everything to do with this before: it gave him the chance to hand-pick all those special records. He gave himself the advantage over other DJs by bringing the most relevant tunes to the party. Always the centre of attention at his gigs, Karotte keeps an open mind towards getting to know you, the event and the audience. Going from the feeling he gets hell play stuff like minimal, tech-house, house, electro and breakbeat. The man is, all in all, pretty unpredictable when it comes to his music selection for a gig. Prepare yourself for a journey into the unknown with Karotte.

This underground DJ/producer is getting more and more influential by the day. Things moved quickly after he stopped being a DJ-assistant and became the guy behind the decks himself. This all took place in the very touristic hotspot of Marmaris, Turkey, which provided him with a good crowd and enough nights to practice. For Ugur a good set isnt just about being a good DJ and finding the right tracks, its also got a lot to do with the body language and crowd connection. He mixes a blend of techno, tech-house and deep house, with a little touch of melodic sounds. With this mix of genres hes had the chance to release music on NXT Recordings and Rhythm Recordings. Having already shared stages with Sven Vth, Loco Dice and Adam Beyer at hotspots like Extrema Outdoor, Laundry Day and Solar Festival, Ugur Yurt is one to catch this Saturday.

Tongue twister of the day: Brennan Hearts heart beats hard for hardstyle! As an eminent representative of the Dutch dance industry, he is one of the leading brands in international hardstyle music. Tracks like Imaginary and Lose My Mind are perfect examples of his remarkable signature sound: harmonious melodies, catchy vocal lines and impeccable production. Brennan Heart (real name: Fabian Bohn) has built up an impressive track record as a DJ and producer with over 100 releases and the 50-minute documentary Evolution of Style to his name. Hes known for his unrestrained efforts and perseverance, constantly improving his skills and studio setup. Hardstyle is not only about the quality of the beats, though; the songs, melodies and vocals are just as much key elements of the evolution of the genre. Fortunately Brennan Heart counts as a true pioneer when it comes to revolutionizing all of the elements of hardstyle.

Did you know that Martin Garrix favorite animal is the lion? Well, that might just be right, as hes nearly been crowned king of the DJ kingdom. Its easy to get lost in the numbers behind Martins meteoric rise. His story started out in his Amstelveen bedroom back when he was still called Martijn Garritsen. At 18 years of age, however, the Dutch superstar has already set precedents and made landmarks at every corner of the music industry. Picked up by Spinnin Records and subsequently backed by Scooter Braun, Martin has become one of electronic dance musics youngest superstars, amassing a chart-topping, well-known musical legacy along the way. Leaping 36 places to #4 of the DJ Mag Top 100 charts in 2014, garnering both the attention of Billboards prestigious 21 under 21 as well as Forbes 30 under 30 list, and dropping his first BBC Essential Mix, Martin Garrixs story is only just beginning.

Hey whats up everyone, its Sander van Doorn and Im going to walk you through my very own Tomorrowland preparation and experience. In my opinion, theres a couple of really important moments each year: Miami Music Week, Tomorrowland and Amsterdam Dance Event. Tomorrowland highlights the summer each year and its such an honour to be performing here again.

This year Ill be playing Laidback Lukes Super You&Me stage and Im really looking forward to it. Ive known Luke for a long time and Ive always enjoyed playing his Super You&Me events. Back in March I was performing at one of these and I dressed up as the Hulk, so who knows what this Tomorrowland performance will have in store. I always like preparing my set for Tomorrowland. Its one of the most important gigs of the summer, so its time to go all out! Im super happy with the tracks that Ive been putting out during 2015. Im definitely going to play some of those, like Oh, Amazing Bass, Ori Tali Ma and Rage. You can expect a set brim-filled with energy and smashing tunes. I cant wait to see all of you at the Super You&Me Stage on Saturday!

And you know whats best about Tomorrowland? It can be seen as the big family gathering of the summer. Theres a lot of big festivals where all the DJs meet up, but Tomorrowland is different. Literally everyone is here and for all us Dutchies its really close to home too. Its really one of the few moments in the year that everyone in the dance scene gets together so Im looking forward to this weekend of madness a lot.

Located deep within the circuitry of a mechanical alien host known as Maetrik you will find a complex web of synaptic disbursements resembling what could be called a soul. And this soul which drives its host and manipulates its every move is finally beginning to emerge. Its name is Maceo Plex. The emergence of such an entity has been the result of a need for feeling, a need for interplanetary funk. We as humans consider this need a feeling, a feeling rooted in emotion, and emotion is to us the very basis of humanity. Maceo Plex is on a quest to fulfill his need, injecting feeling and funk into the world, and hes already proving to be quite productive. With deep and funky works of audible engineering for the label Crosstown Rebels in the form of a full length album titled Life Index, a night with Maceo Plex will be one of galactic proportions.
