• 1 accepted to Union University School of Nursing, Accelerated BSN Program, Jackson, Tennessee

• 1 accepted to UTHSC College of Nursing, Accelerated BSN Program, Memphis, Tennessee

• 2 accepted to UTHSC College of Nursing, MSN-CNL Program, Memphis, Tennessee

• 1 received CNA license and is currently working as a CNA in the Mid-South area

• 1 accepted to Duke University School of Nursing, Accelerated BSN Program, Durham, North Carolina

• 1 accepted to Union University School of Nursing, Accelerated BSN Program, Jackson, Tennessee

• Most of the participants are currently finishing prerequisites or waiting to hear back from submitted applications

• We will have one more Pre-Matriculation Program during Summer 2014. (The program is grant-funded).

• Provided with an on-going retention program to promote the success of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds

• Receive a $4,000 scholarship ($2,000 in the fall and $2,000 in the spring)

• Provided with numerous academic and social support services• Receive recognition at various events• Meet monthly with a consultant who encourages and enriches

diversity and cultural knowledge and competence of students• Being prepared to deliver culturally appropriate care to their clients

and to work as culturally competent team members with colleagues after graduation
