Tomintoul

Tomintoul village is in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, situated between two rivers; the Avon to the west and the Conglass to the east. The Victorian village square and local amenities offer a tranquil setting with a variety of hotels, restaurants and shops. This small but vibrant community offers many local events and activities throughout the year. The popular Lecht Ski Village is just 4 miles away with winter sports from Christmas to Easter. Seven miles north of Tomintoul on the B9008 is Glenlivet, the best and most well known distillery to visit in the area. This is part of the "Malt Whisky Trail" and offers tours and visitor facilities that easily match the excellence of its location. The village has a very strong fishing tradition and the area is noted for its spectacular scenery.

The Cottage

Ailnack Cottage is a stunning single storey stone and slated property. The cottage will comfortably sleep a group of 4 people with one double room and one twin room. The garden has a patio, grassed area and shrubs as well as parking to the side. There is oil heating and plenty of hot water. With such a beautiful garden area outside and unique features such as the wooden beams and fireplace shown below in the living area we are sure you will want to return here again and again.

Kitchen and BathroomThe newly fitted kitchen has a window to the west and is made up of a number of units in white with dark complementary work surfaces. A newly fitted Zanussi oven and stainless steel sink unit make this a great practical space for preparing meals during your stay. There is an automatic washing machine. The bathroom has a brand new white suite with a mixer shower over the bath, hand wash basin and W.C. It also has a fan heater and a ceramic tiled floor.

Sitting RoomThe sitting room is a comfortable and relaxing space with a stunning feature in its multi-fuel stove with Burghead sandstone surround and hearth. This keeps the room cosy and is a welcome sight after an exhausting day touring the Highlands. The ceiling is made of stunning oak beams and adds character to this room. There are Velux windows to the west and east allowing plenty of light to flood the room. There is also an LCD TV and DVD player for those relaxing nights in.

BedroomsBoth bedrooms at the cottage have south facing windows, radiators and newly fitted carpets. The master bedroom is beautifully decorated and provides a very relaxing and appealing area to rest whilst on your stay at the cottage. The double bed is very comfortable and is sure to give you a great nights sleep. Similarly the second bedroom is designed with your comfort in mind and has twin beds with a bedside cabinet.
