Respect - Responsibility - Participation - Safety Quality Education in a Caring Environment Term 4, Week 3 - Issue 34 Wednesday 30 October, 2019 BULLETIN Tomerong Public School http://www.tomerong-p.schools.nsw.edu.au PRINCIPALS REPORT Dear all, School Hats As we are heading into the warmer time of year it is timely to remind students and families of our Sun Safety policy, which states that children are to stay under cover if they do not have a school broad -brimmed hat. Please ensure your child has a school hat to wear each day. These are available through the Uniform Pool for $10.00 Uniform and School Shoes We also remind students and parents of the need to ensure the correct uniforms are worn each day. Sports uniforms are to be worn each Friday, (unless otherwise requested) and the general uniform is to be worn on Monday – Thursday. Students are to wear black shoes on Monday – Thursday and can wear joggers on sports day. Black leather school shoes are ideal, although many families are opting to purchase black joggers for students to wear every day, saving them from buying two pairs of shoes. This is a sensible option, providing the joggers are of good quality. A reminder that our Uniform Pool is open every Friday from 2.50 - 3.10pm and order forms are available from the office waiting room. Year 5 Leadership Speeches Year 5 students who wish to be considered for a leadership position next year will be addressing their peers on Monday 18 November. Following the speeches, students will have the opportunity to vote for the 2020 school leaders, with the results being announced at Presentation Day on Wednesday 4 December. We know our Year 5 students will make outstanding role models next year and I look forward to hearing their speeches. Have a great week! Rod White Principal Luke “My name is Luke. Did you know???

Under the Companion Animals Act 1998 No87 (14.1.e), dogs are prohibited in school grounds, (whether or not they are leashed or otherwise controlled). For the safety of all students, toddlers, babies and adults, please do not bring dogs into the school grounds, even on leashes. Some children have a genuine fear and it can be quite distressing for them as well as for parents, particularly those with very young children. Thank you for your support in this matter.
