Tom and Jerry is an American animated series of theatrical shorts, television shows and specials, feature film, home films created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that centered on a never- ending rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse(Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry cartoons at the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California between 1940 and 1957, when the animation unit was closed. Jules Ralph Feiffer (b. January 26, 1929) is an American syndicated cartoonist, most notable for his long-run comic strip titled Feiffer. He has created more than 35 books, plays and screenplays. In 1986, he won the Pulitzer Prize for his editorial cartooning in The Village Voice.

Munro is a 1961 animated short film. It was directed by Gene Deitch, written by Jules Feiffer, and produced by William L. Snyder.

The title character is a rebellious little boy who is accidentally drafted into the United States Army. No matter which adult he tells "I'm only four", they all fail to notice his age.

Munro won an Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 1961, the first short composed outside of the United States to be so honored.

Simple, abstract, geometric shapes move and morph on the screen to what sounds like harpsichord music. The voice of an audience member, who claims to be 71, complains throughout most the film despite being told repeatedly by other audience members to keep quiet.
