Toyota SA’s View

1) We are not opposed to the upgrading of the existing road

2) We ARE opposed to the tolling of an existingNational road

3) We are opposed to the proposed siting of the Toll Plaza

Opposed For the Following Reasons:-1) No benefit for any employee of Toyota SA

2) It will place financial strain on thousands of our employees

3) Huge financial burden on our Suppliers who deliver to our Kanban Just-in-Time system

4) It will lead to increases in their pricing and will negativelyimpact on various stakeholders (including Toyota SA)

5) Prospecton Road will become the alternate route

Opposed For the Following Reasons:-6) Serious safety risks to pedestrians, namely,

employees of Toyota SA crossing Prospecton road

7) More traffic along Prospecton road will make the situation unmanageable

8) The extension to Kingsway will be chaotic, with peak hour traffic already heavily congested

9) Declining value of Business and Residential premises

10) Less desirable to investors

Opposed For the Following Reasons:-11) Consultation has not commenced with various Taxi

Associations

12) This will lead to a negative reaction and impact on our stable production in our Plant

Cost Implications:-1) Body Plant Deliveries

53 daily deliveries - 3 to 7 ton vehicles

2) Trim Plant Deliveries 6 deliveries per day (horse & trailer)90 deliveries per day (2 to 4 ton vehicles)

3) Manufacturing Operations24 deliveries per day (4 to 8 ton vehicles)

This is local parts only and excludes Facilitiesand General Supply deliveries (LP gas etc)
