and will be passed out to students this week. There are a very limited number of extra yearbooks (around 10) and they will be sold on a first come basis for $38. Please email:

Math Algebra/Geometry/Calculus
Mrs. Dacus [email protected] Algebra 1 : Algebra 1 will complete a unit on solving equations and will test on it Wednesday. They will receive review materials in class on Tuesday and will work on them in class that day. Geometry: Geometry will finish the study of geometry
basics this week and will be testing on Wednesday. They will receive review materials on Tuesday and will work on them in class Tuesday.
Calculus: Calculus will finish a study of limits and will be
testing on Thursday. Calculus students will complete the "Are You Ready?" packet by Friday and will quiz over it on Friday during class.
Algebra II and Pre-Cal

Algebra II: and Pre-Cal: Alg 2 classes will working on
positive-integer exponent rules and exponent properties with quiz on Thursday Pre-cal classes are working on negative-integer exponent rules and product and quotients involving radicals and will take quiz on Thursday
Math Models
Ms. Foster [email protected] Students will be continuing their study of collecting, orga-nizing, and interpreting data. Bar graph projects will be presented at the end of the week.

Science Biology/Chemistry
Ms. Nowell [email protected] Biology : In Biology, students will continue investigate biomolecules. We will do a lab Friday to test for different molecules in food substances. Notebooks are due Wednesday. Students were given a handout with the pa-pers that need to be in their notebooks. Advance students have the last dialectic journal of the six weeks due Wednesday as well.
Chemistry: In Chemistry the students will be learning
the differences in chemical and physical properties as well as the organization of matter. This will include a lab where the students identify properties of different sub-stances. There will be a test of Friday that covers the sci-entific method, the math of chemistry, and the properties of matter.
Principals of Technology/Engineering Design

Principals of Technology: We will study buoyant
forces and Archimedes Principle, through constructing and testing cardboard boats. Please bring cardboard and duct tape, if you have any laying around.
Engineering Design: We will continue working on
multi-view drawings and learn dimensioning rules. We will also learn how to make working drawings using Auto-desk Inventor.
English ELA I
Mrs. Boisjolie [email protected] ELAI: Students will read several fiction selections in-cluding a short story and poetry as we conclude the six weeks. STEMS vocabulary quiz will be Thursday, so stu-dents should continue studying flashcards this week.
Advanced ELA I: Students will complete the short story,
"The Most Dangerous Game" and examine the author's use of foreshadowing, tone, and mood to create suspense. We will review TPCASTT (poetry analysis) with a new poem, and students will conclude the week with their STEMS vocabulary quiz.
English ELA II

ELA II: : Students will conclude the novel study of To Kill
a Mockingbird by Wednesday. We will have an inner-outer circle discussion on Thursday as well as our SAT vocabulary quiz. Students will then take a comprehensive essay exam over the novel.
Advanced ELA II: Students will complete an analysis of Nelson Mandela's Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Ad-dress and read and analyze two poems using TPCASTT. Students will then take a cumulative exam over persua-sive speech analysis, poetry analysis, and grammar.

ELA III & IV/ Writing
DC English III & IV Ms. Anderson [email protected] ELA III :Students will be reviewing The Crucible, focus-ing on characterization and theme. Our test will be Wednesday, and then writing a one-page literary analysis on Thursday and Friday regarding theme.
ELA IV: Students will continue working on the revisions
of the college scholarship/application essays. Final copies will be due at the beginning of the period Thursday. We will then begin taking notes on the Middle Ages. DC English III: Students will continue working on their
synthesis essays regarding different viewpoints of Mount Everest climbing expeditions. Students will be annotated the articles, briefly summarzing them, and properly docu-menting them according to MLA format. DC English IV: We will take notes on the Middle Ages
and the King Arthur legend on Monday, then students will be reading and discussing Sir Gawain and the Green Knight the rest of the week. The should especially be not-ing characteristics of the Medieval Romance. Writing: We will be focusing on reading comprehen-sion excerpts and short answers for the EOC.

World History: We will be continuing our unit on the
Classical Era. In light of our Holocaust survivor speaking on October 1st, we will be doing some research for our second major test grade this six weeks. Get your grades raised by correcting and doing extra credit essays. I will not take them past Wednesday afternoon.
Government: We will be doing a research unit over the Holocaust and Nazi Germany government. We are doing this research to prepare for the privilege to hear a Holocaust survivor speak on October 1st. We will be us-ing this for the second major test grade for the six weeks. Get your grades raised by correcting and doing extra credit essays. I will not take them past Wednesday afternoon.
Social Studies DC U.S. History & DC Government
Coach Lee [email protected] Dual credit US History has their project due on Tues-day. We will spend the rest of the week discussing pro-test, civil rights and amendments as we present presenta-tions.
Government dual credit has their project due Monday. We will then spend the rest of the week learning more
about the people who represent us. Both classes will have
plenty of work from their professors as well.
Both classes will still have assignments and readings due for Weatherford college.

The Fashion Design Students had a wonderful time choosing fabrics for their quilts. This next week they will begin the construction process. Principles students worked on knowing their own values and principles for life. The nutrition students learned how to bake the per-fect cookie.

Digital Media: Last week, we concluded our lessons on Digital Citizenship. This week we will be touring the Adobe Premiere Pro workspace and customizing our own workspace.
Principles of IT : We will begin investigating IT em-ployment opportunities. Students will be able to demon-strate knowledge of positive personal qualities and work behaviors, the hiring process, and details about careers in the Information Technology field.

We are then prepar-ing a presentation, due Thursday, that covers any nega-tive events in our life and how we moved forward or in some cases should have moved forward with a new per-spective.
