Objectives

Basic Principles

Fairness and Honesty are essential for the achievement of our joint objectives in the company. That is why violations against applicable laws and company regulations must be detected in due time in order to• respond quickly to misconduct,• avoid damage to the company and• ensure successful cooperation. In sports, the referee ensures that the rules are observed. In the Daimler Group, the BPO follows up on suspicions of severe violations reported by employees.

The BPO process ensures a fair procedure:• Whistleblowers are comprehensively protected.• There is no investigation without concrete indications.• Affected persons are treated fairly and without prejudice

(presumption of innocence).• The process is regulated in a transparent manner.• Disciplinary measures are governed by the principle of

proportionality.• If accusations are not confirmed, those affected are rehabilitated

- at their request.• Recorded data is deleted after predetermined periods.

Reporting obligation for managers. • In the event of concrete indications of potential severe violations,

managers must report these to the BPO. Work-related errors or violations of other company rules and instructions are exempt from the mandatory BPO reporting requirement.
