The Love and Hope Centre in Kenya is run by the
Franciscan Missionary Sisters For Africa. Phoebe received financial support from the Centre.“I found out about my status, that I was HIV positive. They gave me a loan
to help me set up a café. The money I
make pays for school fees for my children, and
vegetables to eat.”
The Warmi Huasi project, run by the Columban Fathers, supports children aged
6 to 12 years old to participate as
active citizens in San Benito, Peru.
“This is my town, San Benito, and
as the town grows, we’re growing too.
As children in the community,
we want to help it improve, and that’s
why we have our organisation.’
Together we can work towards a brighter future for vulnerable communities in developing countries.

About Misean Cara
Misean Cara is an international and Irish faith-based missionary movement working with some of the most marginalised and vulnerable communities in developing countries.
Our movement is made up of 91 member organisations working in over 50 countries. Our members run projects which aim to protect human rights and tackle social inequalities by delivering services and advocating for change in the areas of education, health and livelihoods.
Missionaries Transform Lives
Misean Cara recognises that its strength lies in the faith, dedication and skills of its members. Our members live long-term in the communities they serve, and work alongside local people to make a significant and sustained difference to the lives of those in need.
Emergency Response
Missionaries build strong relationships of trust within the communities they live, and are often first to respond to crises with in-depth local knowledge. Missionaries stay with communities before, during and after a crisis, helping to rebuild lives and enhance long-term resilience.
What We Do
Misean Cara provides a range of supports for the international development work of our members. We access and distribute funding for projects, provide advice and mentoring to our members, and visit the projects we support to monitor and evaluate their success.
Misean Cara supports our members at every step of their journey, from the initial identification of need, to the evaluation of completed projects.
