Invest in Our Vision Making Group Contributions...
…we repay NA not just by taking care of ourselves, but by making a way for the newcomer to find recovery.
GSRs: Suggest that your home-group purchase the Informational Pamphlets for more information on Funding NA Services and Money Matters concerning our fellowship – and read them…
IP #24 – Money Matters: Self-Support in NA
IP #28 – Funding NA Services
Financials: Has each of us ever considered what is meant by “support services”? We all go to meetings, and many of us have participated on H&I panels, noticed PSAs on television, and attended conventions. Now, what does it really take for every service to happen? Each of us has a responsibility to contribute, and to help other members learn how financial contributions help ensure that services continue to be provided around the world and in our backyards. Let us be inspired by our primary purpose and take action to financially contribute through our portal at http://www.na.org (NA World Services News; Volume 10, Issue 1 – 08/2012) **********************************

A MEMBER SHARES
This is being submitted by a member from GPRNA to raise awareness and to spark discussion. To All This May Concern:
I'm sending this information in hopes that the Greater Philadelphia Region can disseminate this in some form to our fellowship. This Region is in dire need of financial support from its members, and I believe there is a simple solution. Here is a list of our Region’s Monthly Bills:
1. Rent $ 910.00 2. Office Phone $ 204.00 3. PGW $ 30.00 4. Copies $ 150.00 5. Staples $ 330.51 6. PECO $ 60.00 7. Insurance $ 663.75 8. Visa-Bill $ $ 100.00 TOTAL $2,448.01
We have approximately 353 groups weekly,(not counting meetings). If each group would donate $10.00 a month, the total donations would amount to $3,530.00, which could help this Region to be financially sound. On the other hand, world-wide we have about 61,000 groups that meet each week, and, if every group would donate $2.00 a month to NAWS (NA World Service), the total donations would amount to approximately $122,000. It seems a shame that such a small amount of money could do so much, yet we struggle to be fully self-supporting. This may be due to some of our members who could donate but don't, and yet profess that they are grateful to this "thing" called Narcotics Anonymous that saved our lives and gave us a life worth living. Members please take another look and remember all we have is each other and we are responsible for NA's survival. Please pass this information on to as many members as possible.
In Loving Service A Concerned Recovering Addict
PS: This is just a suggestion

Also encourage people who have events to email the information to that email as well.
Here are some of the updates to the newly revamped Website:
You can find the Region’s Policy. There is a page under the "For Our Members" tab. When you click on "Regional Policy" it opens up a page which provides a link for you to either view or download the policy in a PDF format (requires Adobe, which is free, Google it). While the policy is open you can click the CTRL or Control button and the F button at the same time. This opens up a search function within the PDF and you can type in whatever keyword you are looking for. This way instead of ruffling through pages you can simply search the document for what you are looking for. Also added are all the Sub‐Committees to the website with a description of each sub‐committee.
In addition, you’ll find "The 12 Concepts" and “A Guide To Local Services”. Again, you can either scroll through the booklet or hit CTRL+F and search for what you are looking for. Finally, on the website you’ll find Delco Area has been added to the meeting list. Please, for now and going forward, please send ALL events to this email [email protected] so the Events Page can be updated.

See Clarence A., WSW Area Policy Chair
West South West Area Literature Review Subcommittee Traditions Project WSC 2010 adopted a motion to create a project plan for a Twelve Traditions working guide, and a 2011 fellowship-wide literature survey indicated that this is an item that our members are very interested in: Over 80% of respondents said this was an item that was needed or very much needed. Comments in the literature survey showed a wide variety of expectations about this topic. Some wanted something that could be applied personally, some wanted questions to be asked in a style similar to The NA Step Working Guides, some wanted to better understand the application to groups and service, etc. At the 2012 World Service Conference, we offered a plan for a two-cycle project, so that we can have more of a dialog with the fellowship this cycle about the focus and approach of a Twelve Traditions working guide before any drafting begins.
The creation of a workgroup, actual drafting of the book, sending the material out for review, and ultimately publishing an approval draft would happen in the 2014-2016 cycle, pending approval at the 2014 conference.
Goals for 2012–2014 Conference Cycle Our goal for this cycle is to gather fellowship input, source material, and ideas regarding a traditions book both online and through face-to-face workshops. The resources listed below will help in those efforts. By the end of the cycle, we would like to frame viable options for the book so that we can move forward with writing it in the 2014–2016 conference cycle.
Please….Come out and get into Service We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month before the
WSW Area Service Committee meeting from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Wayland Memorial Baptist Church, Corner of 52nd & Baltimore Avenue.

NAWS Workshops This is an opportunity for the local fellowship to interact with NA World Services trusted servants and staff. These events cover a wide variety of recovery and service topics. Workshop registration is free. The events will be listed at www.na.org when applicable.
Narcotics Anonymous world conventions provide members with a chance to celebrate recovery with one another in a unique way. A broad range of topics are covered in workshops; main meetings highlight our unity and diversity; and the first-class entertainment at comedy shows, concerts, coffee-houses, dances, and so much more demonstrate the wide range of joys we experience living clean. The convention itself lasts just four short days. The planning process for each world convention spans as many as seven years, but the memories created will last a lifetime. It's not too early to start planning for Philadelphia! Visit www.na.org/wcna for more information as it becomes available. WCNA-2013 Pre-Convention Cruise – Wednesday 8/21/2013 through 8/29/2013

Upon our return to New York, ground transportation to downtown Philadelphia will be provided. When It's Harder To Smile Somedays when it's difficult, and harder to deal I know that Your Love has the Power to heal. That faith helps me handle the struggles of life; the illness, the setbacks, the fears, and the strife. I'm never alone now, no matter the trial, Even the times when it's harder to smile Your Presence brings comfort, it settles the mind, the Peace that I doubted I ever would find. I Thank You Dear Lord for the Hope that I feel, Knowing Your Love has the Power to heal
Thank You Father Love always Your son peter
Keep Me Humble
Sometimes I think I need so much Much more than simply Your sweet touch
Those days I need Your guiding hand To help my heart to understand
Some things of life are good indeed As long as I can conquer greed
Accept those things as gifts from you Provided just to help me through
Not something I should live life for Never happy, wanting more
Help me live in love instead Giving thanks for daily bread
Lord keep me humble, this I pray Remind me there’s a better way.
Thank You Father Love always Your son peter

“Many recovering addicts do not have access to regular meetings because of incarceration, geography, physical disability, or employment. These addicts are members in every respect as long as they have the desire to stop using, and they are entitled to the same consideration and support as any other member.” — from Tradition Three
What are phone meetings? NA Phone Meetings are not meant to be a replacement for face to face meetings. NA Phone Meetings are individual groups that hold their own group consciences and have trusted servants; each group is self -supporting, declining outside contributions and are autonomous, following all of the Twelve Traditions of NA. If you are interested in going to meetings with people from around the world please feel free to join us. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. PLEASE ATTEND FACE TO FACE MEETINGS WHENEVER POSSIBLE.
