TheTestofEnglishasaForeignLanguage(TOEFL)isaninternationalexamwrittenandassessedintheUnitedStatesofAmerica.Onthespeakingsectionoftheexam,testtakersaregivensixquestionstorespondtowithavarietyofresponseandpreparationtimes.Likelythemostimportantthingtoknowaboutthissectionofthetestisthatyouwillnotbespeakingwithtestadministratorbutratherrecordingyouranswersintoamicrophone.SomeoneintheUSAthenlistenstoyouranswersandgivesyouagrade.Thiscanoftenfeeladauntingtaskforstudentsbecauseitisuncomfortabletobespeakingtonoone,andadditionallyhaveotherpeoplearoundyouspeakingatthesametime.Itisdefinitelysomethingthatrequirespracticeinordertoadjusttotheuniquefeelingoftakingthissectionoftheexam,butshouldnotbesomethingthatinfluencesyourdecisionnottotaketheTOEFL.Thisexam,likemostinternationalexams,followsaverystrictpatternforeachtest.Thespeakingsectionofthistestisnodifferent.Thequestionsonthissectionofthetestcanbebrokenintogroupsofpairs.Belowyouwillfindanoverviewofthequestionsofthetestandsomestrategiesforeachquestiontype:

Hereyouwillbeaskedabouttopicsthatareimportanttoyouandyourpersonalpreferences.Onceyouhearthequestion,youaregiven15secondstoprepareyourresponseand45secondstospeak.
