Trainer V. Proctor was fined the sum of $50 under the provisions of AR140A for presenting
Magic Jillybean to race in Race 3 with winkers which are not part of the fillys approved
racing gear.
Stewards updated the track to a Good 3 at 3.54pm following the running of Race 5.
Race 1 telstra business centre albury wodonga maiden plate - 1400 metres:
Gold Plated Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped Jimmy Two Tags.
Concretus Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Subsequent to the event Trainer B. Cox
stated that it was his intention to now spell the gelding.
Feeling Positive Bumped at the start by Jimmy Two Tags. Hampered and taken out slightly
by Gold Plated near the 200m. Rider J. Noonan was fined the sum of $200 under the
provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
Bar Date Raced wide without cover from the 800m. When laying out near the 100m shifted
out and made contact with Gagamaru, which inturn was taken out and bumped Concretus.
Rush Of Blood Held up from the 400m until the near the 200m. Obliged to be steadied to
avoid the heels of Whiskey Business passing the 400m and again near the 300m.
Gagamaru Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Jimmy Two Tags Eased down over the concluding stages. Rider Ms A. Masters stated that
in her opinion the gelding may be feeling the effects of recent racing. A post-race veterinary
examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Race 2 sam miranda wines 3yo miaden plate - 1100 metres:
Able Knight Unruly in the mounting yard and reluctant to proceed to the start resulting in a
delay to the start of the race. Trainer R. Freyer was notified that the gelding was now
suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards and gains an
approval to race.
Chapel Road Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after taking charge of its rider
and cantering for a short distance and deemed fit to start.
Dakota Under went a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers
which revealed the presence of blood in its left nostril from an external trauma, as such
Dakota was deemed unfit to start. A veterinary clearance is not required. Acting on this
Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding of 1.55pm on veterinary advice. Orders in
relation to betting were: All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the
late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are
subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets -
9 cents, Place Bets (For Winner) - 6 cents, Place Bets (For 2nd
) - 11 cents, Place Bets (For 3rd
)
- 11 cents *All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face
value of ticket.
Pieceofeight Jumped away awkwardly.
Shadow Wings Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover
throughout.
Prince Of Prussia Slow to begin.
Fujin Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
Forty Nine Riddles Held up from the 300m and near the 200m shifted out to obtain clear
running and made contact with Twilight Lass.
Race 3 fashionable sails shades f&m plate - 1200 metres:
Little Miss Charm Slow to begin.
Ziggydooda Jumped away awkwardly then had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Baby
Zara. Apprentice rider Ms R. Williams reported that the mare hung out throughout the race.
Sunday Sesh Raced greenly in the early stages.
Fille De Noit Raced wide without cover throughout. Performed below market expectations.
A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Magic Jillybean Over raced in the early and middle stages and near the 600m had to be
steadied off the heels of Why Do We Do It.
Baby Zara Hung in in the straight.
Race 4 albury wodonga rv world bm64 handicap - 1200 metres:
This Is The Show Change of Tactics: More forward in an attempt to improve performance
with addition of blinkers. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Rustic Debutante Jumped away awkwardly shifted out and bumped with Blu Cheval.
Apprentice rider Ms R. Williams could offer no explanation for the fillys performance. A
post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Shez A Tornado Raced greenly in the early stages. Approaching the 1000m had to be
steadied when tightened for room by Aunty Elsie which was taken in by Fildancer (F.
Alesci). F. Alesci was severely reprimanded under the provision of AR137(a) for permitting
his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear of other runners. After passing the 400m
when improving shifted out abruptly to obtain a clear run and to avoid the heels of Blue
Cheval.
Angus Rock After passing the 100m when improving shifted out to obtain clear running to
the outside of This Is The Show. Had to be steadied approaching the winning post when
racing in restricted room between This Is The Show and Aunty Elsie (Ms L. Meech), which
shifted in when not quite sufficiently clear. Ms L. Meech was reprimanded under the
provisions of AR137(a) for permitting her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of
other runners and notified that she must stop riding and straighten her mount when in similar
circumstances in the future.
Classy Chanel Performed below market expectations. Rider J. Noonan could offer no
explanation for the fillys performance however stated that it pulled up in a normal manner.
Aunty Elsie Rider Ms L. Meech was reprimanded under the provision of AR137A(5)(a)(ii)
for using her whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m. In reaching penalty Stewards took
into account Ms L. Meechs excellent record in relation to this matter.
Fildancer Performed below market expectations. Rider A. Alesci could offer no explanation
for the geldings performance. Trainer P. Burgun notified Stewards that it was his intention to
now spell the gelding.
Race 5 boss better living systems 0-58 handicap - 2050 metres:
Redoute Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly.
Singersongwriter Stood flat footed and lost ground.
Dylans Devil Slow to begin. Ms H. Burns, trainer advised the gelding will now be spelled.
Swanhilde Hung out for the majority of the race.
Ferrero Held up from near the 400m until the winning post and as a consequence went to the
line not fully extended.
Landy After passing the 200m was obliged to be steadied when racing in restricted room
between Ferrero, which shifted out slightly when being held up for a run and Doogans Rise
(S. Payne) which had shifted in under pressure. S. Payne was severely reprimanded under the
provisions of AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of
other runners and notified that he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount
much sooner than he did no this occasion.
Race 6 rmr engineering bm64 handicap - 1400 metres:
Baby Jack Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
Providential Hung out throughout.
Dubai King Raced wide without cover throughout.
Jo Jo Girl Held up from the 400m until approaching the 200m.
Creon Held up from passing the 400m until approaching the 200m and approaching the
winning post when improving had to be steadied off the heels of Smoken Cash.
Stars In The Sky Inconvenienced and had to be steadied approaching the 100m when
tightened for room between Dubai King and Smooth Danish.
Race 7 belvior special school charity luncheon 21st may 2016 0-58 handicap - 1590
metres:
Gets Grand Change of Tactics: More forward in an effort to improve its performance. Raced
wide mid field. Eased out of the race by its rider in the home straight. A post-race veterinary
examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Ms S. Thompson
was notified that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance before the horse is
accepted to race again.
Rum Ranger Slow to begin. Apprentice rider Ms T. Hope was spoken to advisably in
relation to her use of the whip after passing the winning post.
Delago Sun Raced wide without cover throughout.
Compelled Obliged to be steadied near the 300m when racing in restricted room for the
inside of Delago Sun, which shifted in when weakening.
Mutajara Had to be steadied near the 200m when disappointed for a run to the inside of
Rum Ranger.
Toolangi Near the 100m was accidentally struck in the vicinity of the head by the whip of the
rider of Rum Ranger.
GDay Blue Unplaced apprentice rider Ms L. Coombe was reminded of her obligations under
the rules of racing to ride all her mounts out fully at least hands and heels to the end of the
race. Performed below market expectations. Apprentice Coombes explained that the gelding
became agitated in its pre-race preliminary and this may have been detrimental to the horses
performance.
Maximum Overdrive Rider J. Andreou reported that in her opinion the gelding was not
suited to todays firm track conditions.
